October 2019 - The Unexpected one!

Introduction!

Thought I would give a trippy a go (failed on my last 2 attempts!) for something to do during this random time that is 2020! This trip came about when we were in Florida in summer 2018. We stayed onsite at Disney for 5 nights, and had problem after problem with our dining plan, our bands, and our fast passes. I complained by email to guest services when we left as complaining to the front desk did nothing, and a few days later I received an email back offering us 2 nights FOC at any moderate and a 2 day park hopper ticket! I was taken aback, as all we wanted was acknowledgement that the way our issues were dealt with by the front desk were well below standard for a 5 night break that cost us £4000, Disney Guest Services came up trumps for us. So we decided to book to go back, it would be a squeeze, but decided on October rather than August for a change, and was hoping for a decent price for a fly drive! In the end we paid £1917 for the 4 of us, inc a car, £700 cheaper than what we paid in 2018!

Our good friends the Harveys were planning to go at the same time which we were really looking forward to! So with those 2 nights free, we booked at French Quarter, in a garden view room. I booked an extra night there, and 2 nights at All Star Music, then we move on to a lovely Dibb villa for our last 8 nights. I called Disney about 6 months before we went, and they swapped our tickets from 2 day park hoppers to 4 day base tickets, which suited us better. We also got tickets for MNSSHP which we would be doing with our friends. We never expected to go back again, especially so soon, twice should have been our lot, but, who was I kidding, I would go every year if finances allowed! We had planned to go to Tenerife for 10 nights but the free nights and the decent flight prices swung it for us. We were staying at the Hilton Gatwick South Terminal, and flying out on 13th Oct. The kids were missing a week of school, but we had a totally rubbish year with my mother in law passing away very suddenly and myself being in hospital with cardiac related problems about a month later, we all needed some family time!

We are: Me, Rachael, 38 at the time of the trip, Craig, 37 at the time, Katie 13 and Joey 11 (nearly 12)

Hoping I can finish this one!

Looking forward to following this.
We had an unexpected trip in October 2018 thanks to compensation from TUI for a delay causing us to miss a day of our holiday in July2018
