A few pictures of amazing Iceland (not the supermarket)

Hi,

We just got back from 2 weeks driving around Iceland and I wanted to share some pictures. We had an amazing time, and despite it being a REALLY expensive country, we did 2 weeks and only spent £800 in total whilst we were there -this was on fuel, food and entertainment. I would recommend a full circuit of the island to anyone!

Kirkjufellfoss in the West

Icelandic horses roam free everywhere!

Akureyri capital of the North

Rainbow church in Seydisfjordur

Geothermal are in Hverir

Glacier!

Diamond beach

Plane wreck on black beach in the South

Looks awesome. I really want to visit it myself.

Stunning photos, somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit.
Will you be doing a trip report?

Amazing pictures! We got back from Iceland last week after 4 nights there and it was incredible! We too didn’t spend that much, about £330 altogether for 4 nights/5days for two adults and we could have spent even less really if we had tried!

It was the most incredible place, I’d definitely recommend a trip there to others, we saw a lot of amazing things! :)

OP. Lovely pictures, well done. It sounds like you had a great time as well.:)

Absolutely beautiful. Definitely one for my bucket list! Maybe when the kids are a bit older 😕. But the scenery looks breathtaking!

I wasn’t going to, but I guess I could as I have kept a diary...

Ooh you know you want to 😉
They can be hard work but are always lovely to look back on.
I don’t think I’ve seen a trip report from Iceland before so you could be the first!

I'm unbelievably jealous! I've always wanted to go to Iceland - when I was at uni over 30 years ago I chose a course option about glaciated landscapes specifically because it included a field trip there, but they cut it for our year, I was so upset (but I did really enjoy the module anyway!)
I've read so many books about the country and know the geography of it so well, now you've got me thinking about it again. Maybe next year is finally the year when I'll actually get there!
