Try navmii if you have smart phone, free and worked great for us. Doesn’t use data, uses gps so just dowload Florida map before you go.

Great idea
DW is now downloading App onto her IPhone 7plus
Just leaves me to buy a in car charger ( unless the SUVs have an USB port) and a holder

I use an app called here we go which I prefer to navmii.
It does the same thing. I’ve downloaded the UK and Florida maps and use it in airplane mode

Is Navmii easy to use
DW gas put it onto her phone and downloaded Florida map
I will buy a holder and charger for hire car
Just don't want to get there and find it's not easy to use

I have used navmii for florida, califronia and france all with no issues. One thing I would do for ease is set up your favourites before you go using the wifi.
the other thing to consider is that you can use google maps as you can download areas for use with no wifi.
Of course you could always use a good old map.

I think you'd be pretty unlucky to get a hire car without a USB socket.
Although we keep a 'cigarette lighter to USB' adapter in with the sat nav, they're about £2 on ebay.

We bought an SD card with Florida maps on it from eBay... just took it over with us and used in our UK Garmin satnav. Worked a treat
