August 2022 - no mouse

Taken the plunge this week and booked a few low risk bits towards a holiday in 2022. We’ve always done Disney onsite previously with ddp. Boys will be 14 & 17 by 2022 so ready to give universal a go. Can’t afford to add Disney in as well so looking for plenty of new things and food options!

Day 1 - travel & cheap hotel near to universal
Days 2-7 - portofino club level - activate 14 day universal tickets
Days 7-21 - friends villa on highlands reserve. - activate 14 day Busch / aquatica / seaworld

We are going to discovery cove for the first time as a treat in the last week.

And I’m thinking we might do a night at st petes at the midway point of the time in the villa. We can do Busch whilst over there as well. We have done st petes before and loved it.

We might do Kennedy whilst at the villa but I’m keen not to overload the holiday. With parks, shopping, villa down time, a Disney resort hopping day and a mini break at st petes it feels like we’ve plenty to keep us nicely occupied but not manically rushing around.

I’ve paid £15 to Travel Republic to book portofino and our friend has booked us into the villa. He’s pretty laid back and has said we will sort deposits in 2021. Also flexible on dates if flights mean a day or two difference.

Feels good to have something booked!

We have similar planned for 2022. 10 nights in a dibb villa, and 4 nights HRH club level. We didn't do Universal on our last visit in Oct, so looking forward to doing it again. We do have a one day ticket to Disney left from last year, so will decide nearer the time if we use it and what park we will do.

I'm hoping for some beach days at the start, or if we can work out the time off from work and the budget allows, we might do NYC for 3 days beforehand and fly down to Orlando.

Kids will be 14 and 16, eldest would have done her GCSE's, its our 15th wedding anniversary, and we both turn 40 in the next 18 months, will more than likely be the last visit for a long time so want to make it a good one!
