Port Orleans Riverside

Hi, We're stopping at POR for our upcoming stay in a standard room. We fancy stopping in the mansion buildings as prefer the look of these over the Bayou lodges and I believe these have now all been refurbished. Can you make a room request prior to arriving, and if so how do you do this?

Thanks

You have some choices when you do online check in or you can fax them but I would just call about 5 days before you're due to arrive.
We're in alligator bayou & love it

When we went last year we had to Fax (yup... 21st Century, and Disney still Faxes!?!) as the online check-in was malfunctioning for room requests (previous trips to CBR, the online worked perfectly).

Had to go through an app on the mobile, much prefer the online system.

We were in a Royal Room, Mansion Building 90 (80 & 85 are Mansions, 90 & 95 are mansions but Royal Rooms), and loved the building. Having said that, we have stopped in Alligator Bayou a couple of times, and loved these also.

Hope the online's behaving at the mo, as it's so much easier than faxing! (we never thought to 'phone...)

The room categories changed this year and now standard means Mansion buildings. The only reason anyone on a standard room booking should get Alligator Bayou is if they decide to upgrade the reservation for whatever reason. Alligator Bayou rooms are under the 5th sleeper category. I learned this the hard way in January when my travel agent decided not to tell me about the change.

Interesting, thanks.

We were POFQ with TC for next August, but when they went under, we rebooked POR. In order to get the free QSDP, we had to go for a Garden View Room, so I'm guessing we could be in either the mansions or the Bayou?

Don't mind either to be honest (like I said, stayed in both before), so our room choices tend to be top floor and corner... not always got the corner, but we have always avoided ground (first in American) floor.

I believe there are two garden view categories too, but I'm not sure. We're going back next year and have a garden view 5th sleeper booked.

Update on hotel room, we’ve got magnolia bend second floor room on a corner which I requested. Only difference is free upgrade to a royal room, which my 2 dd’s absolutely love! A lovely surprise for us all on arrival.

Great result! My little one loved the fireworks on the headboard, and the Princess pictures on the walls :thumbs-up

Magic carpets also, lovely sink furniture... so well themed!

We stayed in Aug and we were in alligator bayou with a 5th sleeper. It was down as garden view room although we only booked a standard room.
