Canterbury Christmas Market

Hi,
My son is at uni in Canterbury and we are thinking of going to the Christmas market as well as seeing him for a visit. Has anyone been? Is it a good market and where would you park - park/ride? Would be grateful to hear anyone’s experience of it. Thank you!

We live just outside Canterbury and love the Christmas Market. The smell from food stalls especially the German one is lovely. They have sweet stalls and a doughnut one. Best to use the park and ride at Wincheap or New Dover Road.

Thank you, we have only been into Canterbury once, is the market down the main shopping street?

It's just off the main shopping street in the Whitefriars Shopping Centre. You can't miss it😊.

Thank you, we have been to Bath and Bury St Edmunds Christmas market and really enjoyed them so will look forward to Canterbury, we only had a quick visit when we took DS but Canterbury looked like they had lots of great shops to look around.

Canterbury is lovely.
The park and ride stops at the main bus depot which is right in town at the "top" end.
Walk down the side of Boots to get to the market.

There are also some great shops/restaurants further down the town.

Cafe des Ami or their sister restaurant Cafe du Soleil are really lovely as is The Pound which was once the town jail!
