Staying in Monumental Hotel (not Movieland) without a car?
 

Hi All,

Thinking of staying at the Monumental Hotel (down near the Premium Outlets). Won't be hiring a car. Visiting Universal/SeaWorld/Disney. Any thoughts? Is it do-able? I've always stayed further down International Drive (near Pirates Cove etc.). I just find any decent hotel down there is so so expensive now.

I would check with the hotel if they run any free shuttles to the parks. If you end up paying for some sort of transport, you may find your cheap hotel becomes expensive when you factor that in. You could pay more for a different hotel but get transport included.

Monumental Movieland does offer free shuttles to Disney and universal. Use Lynx/I-ride trolley for seaworld. You book your place on the bus the evening before. Only thing with Disney is the bus doesnt drop you off at each of the parks, it just drops you off at Epcot and then you must use Free disney buses/monorail to get to the other disney parks

I believe that this is next to the Rosen in Closest to Universal if so... then its a short taxi ride to universal (should be under $10)

Also you can use the i-trolly/lynx buses for sea world (cheaper than a taxi) and use the i-trolly to go to the premium or vineland outlets.

Wal-mart is a small taxi ride away also, and youre a few minutes (maybe a minute and a half) away from a walgreens.

Not a load of restaurants, but you have a applebees over the road which i found to be very good, a ponderosa opposite and a chilli's near the go kart track.

Stay away from the british pub unless its to watch football, found their food mediocre when i last visited the place (in laws wanted to go there)

Shuttle is like Rosen, book the night before then make way from epcot to whatever park you want. But be aware its time consuming. I-4 next to hotel, over that you have a good view of Volcano bay.
