We're going on a Bear Hunt, RV trip -Vancouver to Rockies - Day 13- Lake Louise to Banff

After a long break because 'life' I am back and determined to finished this report!

We were up early this morning with the intention of trying to drive to Lake Moraine, as the cost of a shuttle is extortionate, even though we were up there by 8am the car park was full. We briefly contemplated whether to do the shuttle but time was also a factor, as we had booked horseriding in Banff for lunchtime so we decided against it (another time maybe!)

After a relatively short ride we arrived in Banff and saw a RV parking spot next to the train station so we parked there, took a bag with a packed lunch and decided to stroll into town.

Banff is really beautiful, we checked out the tourist centre and found a nice cake shop while Simon sorted out the vouchers for horseriding/ caneoing and a gondola for the time we were in Banff.

We then decided to walk to the Warner Stables that hosts a variety of options for trail riding from an hour (which we did) to week long trips. The children had just started riding at home so they were really looking forward to it but Simon had never been on a horse before and I am not very confident either . Riding is Western Style and the horses know the route and don't require much instruction, however I got the naughty horse (called Blue) , who decided that it would rather eat berries or climb down into a ditch rather than walk along nicely like the other horses :confused2

It was a good trail, the scenery is second to none, and the colour of that water! The guide was good and pointed out bear scratches on the trees.

I was relieved to be off Blue though and after the ride we walked back through town, picked up some beer and drove up to Tunnel Mountain 2 campsite.

The Banff Campsite was , without doubt, the least picturesque of all of the campsites we stayed it. It resembled a parking lot!

We decided to have a bit of an eat up as we decided to eat out for our last RV night the following so these were some of the luxuries we consumed!

Another early night ensued, the kids decided against going to the animation in favour of playing games in the Van. We were all pretty tired after another full on day!
