Bonnie Has Been Attacked!

Omg we took Bonnie for a walk today and an American Pit Bull type dog attacked her. She is now at the emergency vets undergoing stitches and cleaning etc. DH is in A&E waiting to get seen to as he was bitten trying to get the dog off Bonnie.

The dogs owners couldn’t control it and it wouldn’t let go of her neck.

Any idea who I would report the dog to and if there’s anything that we could do? We have got a vet bill of over £1,000 (at the moment) due to a dog owner not being able to control their clearly vicious dog.

We are all traumatised at the moment 😕

That's horrendous, how scary for you, I'm so sorry!

I don't know how you'd report to, but it is an offence to not be in control of your dog so I'm sure someone will be along soon with some good advice x

Was their dog off the lead or on and was your dog on a lead or off as it goes to if the dog was dangerous in a public place ?

My DH is sure you should to the police.

Did you by chance get any photos of the other dog or the owner ?

How traumatic for you all, a horrible thing to happen. I hope your wee dog is alright. X

If you have a local Facebook page you could describe the dog and ask if anyone has any information about the dog if you don't know how to contact the owner.

Their dog was off the lead Bonnie was on hers, she is only 7 months old and a very small border collie that was a huge pit bull quite clearly not been controlled at all.

Report it to the police Jane, they should have an officer who deals with this. Hope you your poor dog is ok?
