We haven't seen the Cheltenham racing /Mothers day peak yet

While great the number is lower, 1 day is not enough.

This website seems to collate the data very well. I have linked it to Italy, but you can see any country on this site.

But look at Italy. Scroll down to the daily deaths chart.

Mar 13. 250.
Mar 14. 175.

They are now at just under 1,000 a day.

https://www.worldometers.info/corona...country/italy/

What we want to see is that bar chart to stop trending up. Firstly flatten and then drop.

Ital'y daily new cases does seem to have flattened out. If that carries on that is great news as that is the first thing we will see that shows it is turning. Deaths will always lag the new cases as people die weeks after being diagnosed.

Just hope it is not a pause for Italy as the the number of cases in the South starts to ramp up.

It’s the number of confirmed cases requiring hospital treatment that’s important. The last 2 days have seen a drop. The number of dead will continue to climb for the next couple of weeks but as long as the seriously affected number continues to drop we are going in the right direction.

The thing with numbers is they will vary daily. Say 50 get admitted to hospital sadly 10 could pass away immediately then the other 40 could take up to 20/30 days to pass away.

Sorry if that comes over harsh it's really not meant to. I didn't know how to explain it.

A colleague's neighbour is a director of an NHS Trust and was saying they expected the peak around 14th April.

Jenny said the other day the government think 2/3 weeks until the peak. The thing is the peak could last months. In my opinion we are headed the same way as Italy and Spain.

The peak will not last ‘months’.

I think i am just trying to find a silver lining in all this.

Do you have a rational for your reply?

Quite right, hold on to hope 💖

We are just heading upwards to the peak, the Government will let us know what stages we are at and when.

Sending you hugs.
