Ahh thank you, I find all these things completely interesting to find out about :)

A lot of it is a cultural thing and basically respecting their rules. For instance, it’s disrespectful to show the soles of your feet, so basically keep your shoes on when in public.

That sounds perfect. You will find that people get dressed up for evenings so what you are taking sounds perfect. There will also be certain places that your husband will need full length trousers for dinner. Also anyone planning to visit the Burj - even for afternoon tea- will need trousers

Thank you

Yes we did ... and don’t forget to go to duty free when you land;)

Thank you . Is it cheaper than Heathrow? Presume you are ok to have on you until you get to hotel ?

Also is it UK style sockets? I’m sure I don’t need adaptors but now doubting myself !

Duty free in Dubai is very similar prices to UK but you will get a bigger section at Heathrow.

It is uk style sockets, you won’t need an adapter

Yes I like to stay well within their rules:).
I knew the covered shoulders/ knees thing but I didn’t know about combat print or showing your soles of your feet, so thanks for that:thumbs-up

We bought duty free at Heathrow and took it with us, seemed a bit easier! We had our first trip this October and I felt I didn’t have quite the right clothes with me. I wish I’d taken palazzo type trousers so could have covered knees as only had longish shorts or dresses, there were people everywhere we went in shorts/vests etc, but I was fretting that I could have looked wrong or disrespectful. Covered up as well as I could!

I was the same! Lots of people in shorts and vest tops but I felt very uncomfortable! Will def take different clothes next time!

What’s the tipping etiquette ? E.G. hotel porters, waiting staff , taxis, tour guides etc?
