Hey guys - looking for some opinions.

An opportunity has popped up for a trip in late September from Saturday - Wednesday.
Staying at pop century.

Would give us 3 full days to do our favs and have a spontaneous trip for around £2k not including food.

Are we crazy?
I’ve priced a few sun trips to Tenerife etc for the same time and it’s coming in around £1400 for what we would want.

Never done food and wine and probably won’t get the opportunity again.

We are going in July 2020 as well!

If I only had 5 days I'd go to Disneyland Paris. All that travelling, jet lag etc just for 3 days. It's not for me.

Does the £1400 for Tenerife include food whereas the £2k for Disney does not ?
I would agree with Andybear. If you need a Disney fix why not go to Disney Paris. There is no room for any delays if you are only going for such a short time. I personally wouldn’t entertain it but I know lots of folk would say they would. I don’t necessarily think it is the jet lag or the travelling I just don’t think £2k plus food and spends for 3 days is good value.

Not for me. We did a week last year and we crammed too much in and ended up exhausted every day.

No way, would rather save the money, add to it and do a proper 10/14 days to Florida at a later date.

I'm in the probably not a great idea camp. Taking cost/value out of the equation, for me I wouldn't want to sandwich 3 days in between 2 lengthy flights. I'd be more tempted with a DLP fix (if Disney was the priority), or simply enjoy 5 days in the sun somewhere closer to home. But, your call at the end of the day... Go where you gut takes you.

I’ve just paid £2300 for 14 night in August for 2 adults.

Bit on the pricier side for me but if your happy with it, your paying so do what you want. We have been to ny for 4 nights and crammed so much in.

I’m going to go against the trend of responses and say why not? If the flying doesn’t bother you, and you’re ok with the price, I see nothing wrong with this. People do 3/4/5 day trips all the time to places like Dubai, NYC and Las Vegas, nobody bats an eyelid. It’s just another form of city break.

In fact, the “Orlando should be 7/10/14/21 nights” is a very British/Irish thing. Most other nationalities spend less time there, albeit often as part of a longer trip. Your proposed stay duration isn’t unusual, except for Brits.

If it would make you happy and isn’t going to detract from any other trips you might take, then go for it.

* admittedly I am someone who spends a lot of time in aeroplanes, so my view of what is “too much flying” is different to many others :)

It's a yes from me.

The way I look at it is that many people will do a 4/5 night city break to NY so why not do Orlando. The flight is only approximately an hour longer, the hotel (if offsite) will probably be cheaper and you would probably do about an equal amount of activities/walking.

As somebody who has always found Florida better value than Tenerife (Mrs S suggested a week there last October half term and was shocked when I could book a week in Orlando at our favourite resort for less, guess where we went) and has never found DLP cheaper than Orlando, I’d do it 😊
