Driving Oct return after Brexit
I’m wondering if anyone has received any info from Disney/eurotunnel/ferries about returning to the UK 1st or 2nd Nov after Brexit. Is it likely we will need to apply for an IDP sooner rather than later?
I’m holding off booking until I have a clearer idea of what will happen, I have concerns about delays at the eurotunnel and not carrying the correct documentation but would really like to book. I know that nobody knows what is going to happen for sure but I would be interested in what the travel companies are advising at the moment. |
Do you mean the green card for insurance? I’d get one anyway, just ask your insurer to send one out.

Sorry I meant an international driving permit, I’ve seen it mentioned on the government website.

The short answer is no body knows.

I wouldn't worry too much, just get a IDP, a green card and travel insurance and you won't have any issues regarding being legal.

Thanks for all of the advice. Lots of info to go on there. I still haven’t booked, I need to stop reading the news about 2 day delays at the borders and make a decision. 😫

We are booked to come back on the eurotunnel on the 1st Nov - we will just leave plenty of time for our return journey and I have the green card and will get an IDP just in case.
In regards to delays etc no one really knows what will happen and hopefully will not be as bad as some are reporting! Only time will tell! |
