£2000 for a 7 bedroom for two weeks is pretty cheap if you ask me.

I guess you are paying for convenience. Shop around and see if you can get two villas closer together where you can split your party.

We often rent 2 bed tiny cottages (no pool :)) here in UK for a week and they cost a minimum of £550 depending which part of the country they are. |
£1000 per week for a 7 bedroomed home that will sleep 16 people works out at £8.92 per person, per night! I wouldn't say that is expensive.

Well you can get good 4 beds for about £900 for two weeks so I would say about £1500 for a 7 bed.

We have owned in the past and know what has to be paid in terms of HOA, Prop Tax, Management, Garden Care, utilities, pool care etc. |
While I agree that £2,000 seems pretty reasonable given the number of people that can use it, I also wonder whether, because there are a lot less of them available which means less competition, that has served to keep that price point.
I suppose another way to put it is that 4 bed houses could be cheaper because the competition is far higher. I find it unbelievable that an owner could rent a 4 bed for as little as £450 a week on a sustainable basis, to be honest. (I'm not a villa owner by the way). |
