Star Wars dessert party or Universal Cinematic dining experience?

hi everyone

I'm looking at booking either the HS dessert party for the Star Wars fireworks or the Universal dining experience for their night time show - or maybe both :pgig:

has anyone done both? out of the two are either any good? this is for 2 adults.

Also does anyone know why I can't book star wars for the end of April yet? I'm staying offsite and haven't linked my tickets yet, but as it is dining I thought i'd be able to book... maybe I have to wait for fast pass day?

thanks

We have only done the Star Wars one. Like everything it's not the best value but we really enjoyed it and I'd do it again. The viewing area gave a really good view. The cocktails were good😀
We watched the cinematic thing in universal, it was fine but not a patch on the Star Wars stuff.

For me it would be Star Wars. The Universal one is merely watching a screen in a lake with a few fireworks. Nowhere near as spectacular.

Star Wars hands down! We did the desert party last year and it was really fun. I didn't actually think the special viewing area you watch the fireworks from was that great but the fireworks are spectacular and the universal show is nice but doesn't come anywhere close.

great thanks all. looks like universal is worth a watch but I think I'll look at the star wars dessert party. my OH loves star wars and we both love desserts so this sounded like fun ;)

Not done Star Wars one.

We did the Cinematic Dining - it was a lovely evening. Lombard's is a great restaurant, we had two courses and then unlimited desserts and coffee on the decking outside, where we sat to watch the show. It's nowhere near as spectacular as a Disney show and doesn't try to be, but it's a nice recap of some famous Universal films.

However, it's not unmissable IMO. You can watch the show from anywhere round the lagoon for free.
