Dubai

I have a trip booked for Jan 2021.

As things stand at the moment and the trip were to go ahead it states a requirement is to be tested 96 hours prior to departure FROM Dubai ( along with the test prior to travelling out there).

Has anyone been to Dubai and experienced this?

Thanks

My friend came home from visiting her husband on Wednesday. She said she did have to have another test in Dubai. I don’t know what she meant but she said it was worse than the one at home. I am speaking to her tonight (She’s quarantined now !) and I will try and remember to ask her for more details.

You have to be tested before you go (an they only accept certain types of test results) and may still have to have a test on arrival then quarantine until the results are in - 2 days. There is a company that will come to your hotel to test you, process it then collect you and your luggage etc which I will use if I go as planned in Feb

We have cancelled our October holiday mainly because of the quarantine need which I do not believe will change however we also didn’t like idea of two tests in a week! There is some stuff on the Dubai airport or emirates site about testing on return.

My friend said she went to a clinic within the 96 hours before her flight home. It cost 150 dirhams. The test was a swab up both nostrils and not the throat. You need to take your passport and boarding pass and take the printed test result to the airport.
She did say she felt very safe out there as all the rules with social distancing and hygiene strictly enforced. Temperatures taken entering shopping malls and then again on entry to each shop, face masks compulsory.

Thank you that’d be great.

It sounds like a real pain. The holiday is for my DH’s 21st birthday ( tomorrow) she’s an architecture student, this was planned to see World expo ( now delayed a year) but we’re reliant on BA cancelling.

Who were you flying with? Did you rebook accept voucher or have full refund?
Were the airline offering this?
