Las Vegas or Bust - Day 6
Friday 18th March 2005
More hotels/sightseeing today. After breakfasting again in the Nile Deli, it’s off to catch the bus. The weather has taken a down turn today, it is quite cold, but clear skies, we are glad we have brought our heavy coats today. Earlier on the week, we have been walking round with just tee shirts on and carrying our fleeces.
The bus takes us down the Strip and we get off at the Venetian. After a stroll round the shops and a stop to take pictures of the Gondolas both outside and inside, we continue on our journey to find Ghiradelli’s. Found – in between Harrah’s and the Flamingo. After a Cable Car Sundae for Rick and a Domingo for me, we purchase some Choc’s (we’ll you can’t leave Ghiradelli’s without something to take home, can you?). Paris is our next stop and we take the lift to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Here you get a great view of the Bellagio and the fountains (we’ve just missed a show) and the surrounding area. The next hotel is the Aladdin and the huge shopping mall – The Dessert Passage. We have missed the hourly rainfall/thunderstorm, so we will come back tomorrow.
A late lunch/early tea in Subway and it’s back to the Luxor via the Excalibur to get ready for tonight’s show. We have to return to Treasure Island and Mystere.
We catch the CAT bus back up to Treasure Island and it is getting quite cold now. We are early so have time for coffee and dessert in Starbucks. The show is very much like La Nouba, and very enjoyable. We have excellent seats, 4 rows from ringside. On our exit from the hotel we find that the wind has picked up so we catch a cab back to the hotel.
