Chrome book or laptop

My dad currently has an old heavy laptop.
He just uses it for surfing the internet mainly, doesnít watch films or download much.
Whatís the best thing go for ? Chrome book? Looking for something lightweight still with screen about 14 inches .
£150-£200 is the budget

If itís really just for the internet then either a chrome book or a HP stream will do the trick.

Chromebooks have only got a browser. Nothing else.

The Stream is a full laptop although not a very powerful one so you can do some other things if you need too.

We use Chromebooks at school and they have been very robust with very few issues.

If it's just for internet have you considered a tablet? Might be easier to use. Otherwise a chromebook would be fine if it's just internet.

Not so nowadays they have access to apps in the play store so you can run all sorts on them.

I used my as a proper laptop as it has word and excel on it, I can also print too...

The ones we have at school donít have that. Just a browser, we use google docs which works well and we can print.
They are about 5 years old though.

I have had chromebooks for a few years now and wouldn't go back to a laptop.

I love being able to start up almost instantly. I don't miss a laptop at all.

Ditto for Chromebook.
All the things I need it for are internet based (via a browser including word/excel) and also have a few apps.
Don't miss laptop and find my Chromebook works as well as the day I brought it (almost 3 years ago)

It's an Acer model and cost ~£200 new (also folds into a tablet or 'tent')
