Just booked first fast passes - anyone else find it so stressful

I get really panicky trying to make the right choice.
Our first park is Animal Kingdom and I always think that in the afternoon MK becomes really hot and there are always massive queues so my theory is book the passes in the afternoon and then a to try and get on stuff without passes in the morning so that we still have stuff to do in the afternoon. But then dh is saying isn’t it better to get passes in the morning so we can book more in the afternoon but I’m thinking there probably won’t BE any in the afternoon so we would just use our passes and then be hot and stumped in the afternoon.
I’ll be wrong whatever I’ve booked 😂😂

But also I got really stressed working out each one trying to not overlap etc

Oh yea with you on that one. We are only planning on going to animal kingdom and managed to get dinosaur, safaris and some other i can’t remember woods! Nightmare with FOP but going to keep trying for any on standby

I wanted to do the safari in the morning but it was either before 9 - but I can’t guarentee we we will be there before 9 or after 2 but I’ve other passes so I’ve had to opt for later n I’m hoping the animals are out and it’s not too hot.

I think that being on the dibb can make fast pass booking far more stressful than it really needs to be. ;)

I would definitely agree with your husband and unless I have planned a late start (e.g. waterpark first or a late night event the night before) I would always book FPs for the morning. My first would be from around an hour after general park opening, after that the lines will be built up, lines to the most popular rides will build up within minutes.

There are always some FP later on, maybe not the headline rides, but there will be FPs. In all honesty, I would rethink your strategy of afternoon FPs and at least do some days of morning FP at the beginning of the holiday when you are up early.

They system won't let you overlap, it should be clear when you come to book.

Hallelujah! I just don't get all the stressing about Fast Passes. I'm doing a mixture of morning and afternoon ones. Some days I'm spending the morning at the resort and going to a park at lunchtime, staying there till closing. Then I'm doing afternoon ones. Other days I'm going to a park about 8.00 and staying till mid afternoon - then I'm doing morning ones.

I booked afternoon passes. I know from every single year previous that we get morning fast passes for animal kingdom and we have gone to say Everest and walked on the ride and ridden it 3 or 4 times back to back and then done Dinosaur etc then come the afternoon the lines are long and dh WONT queue and we always end up leaving early because it’s hot and busy and long queues and we end up trailing from ride to ride, find a long line and dh refuses to queue so we move in and then end up leaving.
So my tack this year is the opposite - we will go into the park ride things standby while it’s still not too queued and then in the afternoon we have 3 fast passes and we will watch whichever of Nemo or Lion king that we didn’t watch earlier.
In the past I think it’s offered different permutations of the 3 rides I wanted but this time I’ve had to book each individual so it’s sort of thinking when I’ve booked what, what times shows are, when we usually eat etc.

I'm offsite but I'm pretty chilled about FPs and I've booked a few for our forthcoming trip but I'm not stressing about not being able to get FOP, Slinky Dog or 7DM.

We booked a last minute holiday for July last year and I didn't book a single FP and we still managed to get on all the rides we wanted to do so I figure we'll be ok in September.

If this is what you both want then go for it. :)

It won’t let you overlap fast pass times - you just need to watch ADR times

Yeah I didn’t mean that it was trying to work out when I had passes.

I didn’t realise at first I saw it said something like “you already have a fast pass for this time” but there showed 3 or 4 different time slots and I didn’t realise some were sort of “unclickable” or whatever but I’ve sussed it now. I think it’s just cos it’s different to last time I booked - I felt really annoyed when it changed from just being able to get a pass in the parks to pre-booking it it’s just until you get used to it.

I think I get stressed cos it’s left to me. I ask the others there preference/input etc and often don’t get much feedback but then complain when they aren’t happy with my choices.
I put the 2 options to DH - morning or afternoon and explained my thoughts on both possibilities and if he actually thought about it dh would actually agree with me with my reasoning for getting afternoon passes but he just won’t think about it.
He won’t book the passes cos he is totally not technical and can’t work apps or anything. But then he is very quick to say “oh I thought you would get...” and it’s like 🙄 why didn’t you suggest that when I asked for any preferences?
I have said that there is no way we will get passes for Avatar/slinky dog/7 dwarves minetrain but then when I said about booking Epcot yesterday “well we want to get one for that Avatar ride don’t we?”
So I just get flustered about it trying to make the decisions without any input but then knowing that someone will have a complaint.
