Hi everyone! Finally starting my Trip report so here is the index!

Pre-Trippie

Day 1 - Travel Day and Santa Monica

Day 2 - Santa Monica and Venice Beach

Day 3 - Santa Monica to Morro Bay

Day 4 - Morro Bay to Monterey

Day 5 - Monterey Whale Watching, Santa Cruz & San Fransisco

Day 6 - Alcatraz, Boudin and Lombard Street

It's my second time there I love it! I need to get on and read your TR for your most recent one! Hope you had a lovely time. All the 60th stuff is amazing isn't it?!

We are off on a West Coast tour next May so am hoping for tips. What was your Santa Monica motel like? We have three nights before we pick up our Harley so need to sort accommodation out, cheap but clean and near the beach are the must haves.

It was very cheap, and about a 15 minute walk from the beach...

It was fine for what we needed (cheap, clean and near (ish) the beach) but from reading on here I think our level of acceptance might be a lot lower than some! It does look like it does in the photos so maybe have a look and see what you think? We got an uber back to the hotel both nights (which was only $5!) so didn't walk around there in the evening but in the day time I felt completely fine walking from there to the beach and back! Hope that helps?! :erm:

I've really enjoyed reading so far, thinking of doing similar trip but in reverse, visiting Disney history! Are you going to finish off? Would love to read more! :)
