Writing a CV, advice please

Should Key Skills / Personal Statement come first (before work experience, education etc) or at the end like a sort of summary of why your the right person for the job?

Personal Statement comes first IMO - this will be the main thing prospective employers look at.

I would do it first and keep it short.

Thanks. Should the personal statement be a paragraph or in bullet points? The rest is in bullet points.
Sorry for all the questions but it’s 10 years since I last wrote one!

Mine is a paragraph but it’s short, literally one paragraph. Remember to try and keep your CV to 2 sides of A4.

I'd recommend a paragraph.

Also when talking about each job highlight achievements rather than just job role

I would bullet point the key skills and write a single paragraph for personal statement.

I was told some years ago by a recruitment specialist that it is not expected that a seasoned professional should keep the CV to two pages, that is more of a guideline for somebody in their early days, I don’t include all my experience on my cv but it is four pages now.

Thanks everyone. It’s done, wish me luck!

Thanks to everyone who gave advice on writing my CV. I had an interview on Wednesday morning and received a phone call yesterday morning offering me the job - Excited but nervous!
