Thought I would do another update on poor Bill's ears. Had to take him back to the vets today for his 3rd ear infection this year, 4 since December. Hes less red and generally itchy on the apoquel but still suffering the dreaded spaniel ear. Saw another vet today who again was brilliant. Discussed the possibility of ear canal ablation (TECA) as possibly the only long term solution for poor Bill. Not something I wanted to have to consider on a 2 year old dog but possibly the last remaining option. We have to go back in 2 weeks after more antibiotics and pain killers and discuss with the vet then. I've read up on it before and understand it's a pretty big op with potential diminished hearing after. He cant carry on like he is and it might just might improve his quality of life and our sanity. Anyones dog had it done please?
