Lost my mum today
 

My 92 year old mother passed away overnight in hospital.

She was a fit and independent woman who still lived alone. A couple of months ago she fell at home and broke her pelvis. Ended up in hospital where she contracted hospital acquired pneumonia and a UTI. She also had a heart attack while in there.

The hospital said she was all better and sent her home. The infection had not actually cleared up and she was readmitted. No response to any antibiotics so they said there was nothing more they could do for her.

We were not allowed to visit due to the restrictions but they said they could arrange zoom calls. Which never happened. We did see her at home just before they readmitted her. We live 80 miles away.

Unfortunately she passed quicker than they thought. But at least she is no longer suffering.

RIP mum. We all loved you xx

So sorry that you did not get to say your final goodbye as that must be so hard but she passed knowing how much you and your family loved her. Cherish the memories and remember the fantastic life she had and the great times you shared.
