Nationwide Flexplus end Pandemic cancellation cover

Nationwide are ending cancellation cover for Covid or any other Pandemic, except for medical reasons. This applies to trips booked or accounts opened from 1st January 2021.

It appears we will be covered for our 2022 trip once FCO allow it.

Thanks for the heads up.

I have just read the document and I suspect it's broadly in line with most other Insurers out there albeit they will have different wording.

Shows how we all have to be on the ball with Insurance.:erm:

What I couldn’t find is what happens if you book before January? There was nothing in the FAQs and it refers to booking from January rather than travelling from then.

I think this is going to be the case for most policies moving forward. Makes booking a riskier business, but if we want to travel guess we have to take the chance.

Thanks for posting. I’ve booked a WDW resort and can reschedule VA flights and accommodation for 22’ if needs be. I thought I had all bases covered but I’m not sure 🤔 It’s so confusing 🤷🏼

Thanks for this, I’ve booked a trip for August next year and looked at Nationwide account to insure us as it works Out cheaper for a family of five realistically anyway. Would we be covered if I open an account as I wasn’t a customer when we booked it? Thanks in advance

Looking at the new documents that came through today for our Flexplus account, do people read it that if we have booked for next year which is against FO travel advise we are not covered? I have tried to call for clarification but on hold forever...

That’s correct. In fairness, they have stated this for sometime now and people have purchased alternative policies via Staysure
