Dr Death

This is a fab watch based on a true story. I’m on episode 7/8 and can’t wait to get home from work tomorrow to watch the last 2!

Here is a synopsis;
Based on a hit podcast and inspired by the terrifying true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a young and charismatic star in the Texas medical community. After building a flourishing neurosurgery practice, everything suddenly changes when patients entering Dr. Duntsch's operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries start leaving permanently disabled or dead. As his victims pile up, two fellow physicians and Dallas prosecutor Michelle Shughart set out to stop him.

With Joshua Jackson, Christian slater and Alec Baldwin. Really recommend it.

This is next on my list, looks like yet another great Starzplay series. They don’t have that many on but the quality is up there so I have kept the subscription going for the time being.

So here is my take on this.

Another great series on the add on Starz Play on Amazon. It doesn’t have great quantity, but it sure does have great quality.

This one is the true story of a psychopathic spinal surgeon who seems (I’ve only watched 5 so far, it’s released weekly, 6 is being watched this evening) to deliberately damage his patients on the operating table. He seems to have some kind of God Complex and leaves people with severed spinal cords, removes the wrong things, and leaves people with big sponges inside them etc.

Christian Slater and the gloriously grumpy and irritable (in real life not the show) Alec Baldwin play two spinal surgeons who have witnessed his actions and go about trying to bring him down.

What’s most interesting about it, is just how difficult it is to bring down a surgeon in the USA, despite an appalling record, with hospitals taking him on as he has profile and will make them more money, to useless governing bodies, to the fractured nature of regulation which is on a State and not country wide basis, meaning dangerous doctors could carry on regardless.

Well worth a watch. If you don’t have Starzplay it’s definitely worth a cheap trial if you can get it.

Thank you for the heads up, very much enjoyed this.
Despicable, shame on him, the Texas Medical Board and the hospitals turning a blind eye to make a buck.

Worth listening to the podcast it’s based on as well.
