Never Mind Epricot, I want to ride Splash Mtn again day 4

19th October 2011

Will warn you all before you start this one, tons of photos today so will be a few posts!

I was up at 8am today packing a bag for our overnight stay at the Hard Rock Hotel, as we got in so late last night I left packing til this morning.
The rest of the troops didn't surface until about 9.30am, understandably.

We left for Universal just after 11 and arrived there about 11.45, great result, the drive was without incident, we arrived still talking to each other! And our room was ready so we went straight up to leave the bags, we were club level, more on that later..

It was a lovely room and this was our view

And we come all the way here and there's a photo of these boys on the wall! We live over the water from Liverpool and actually got married in the hard days night hotel at the beginning of September!

This is the view from by the lifts - fantastic or what - gutted we never made it to the pool.

We decided to take the boat to the parks, it was such a gorgeous day

And here we are!

We arrived at the Park just after 12 and Chris was disappointed to see that it was closing at 5pm because of HHN.
We didn't think we'd get everything done here but we did.
My notes a bit sketchy for today, I'm glad we went to Universal but the park on the whole didn't really do it for me (shock horror I know! )
We did all of the rides but I do feel they are all quite dated, We still had a great day though, the kids loved the woody wood pecker play area

we wandered round, just taking the park in, and got one of these

As Chris doesn't have to drive home tonight he can actually have one!

Brandon by the only star he knew, all the others were lost on him!

Told you i have overdone the photos today - continued in next post for more!

The wind had picked up early afternoon and I was just hoping there woldn't be that storm they keep mentioning on the weather..
Look who we met next, she made Jess dance with her, very cute!

And Chris went to amuse himself in the shop and ended up amuseing us no end!

We were peckish now so went here for lunch

Usual burgers and chips here but very nice, we all enjoyed it

We spent the afternoon doing the rest of the rides, and meeting the odd character, the FOLP were a god send, the hotel stay was totally worth it for them alone, jaws had a 60 min wait and we walked on, same with MIB (we all loved this)
longest ride we queued for was the simpsons, waited about 15mins I think, we enjoyed this ride but Jessica hated it

Chris wanted to go on Rip ride rocket so we wandered over there and I took yet more photos

Chris loved the coaster, as he was single rider we didnt have to wait long, it was getting near to park closing so we wandered towards the exit in time to see these, Brandon was well pleased..

Right, still lots to show you, club lounge and dinner at the Kitchen, which was fabulous by the way but real life is beckoning, we have to go to the in laws for a birthday tea so i'll have to leave it here sorry... will get the last post on later :)

This made me laugh! :)

Great start, I've been looking forward to this as we stayed at the Hard Rock too, not club level though, how posh ;):)

Great so far. Sorry US didn't do it for you, hopefully a better response for IOA/WWOHP!

sorry about the break folks, back with the last part of the day now!
We walked back to the hotel

and headed for the lounge, this was another needless expense really... we didn't get there early enough for brekfast this morning, we weren't going to have breakfast there tomorrow as I have booked a character breakfast, we didn't go back after 8 for the dessert hour so a big fat waste really.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we did it so I have experienced it, but we could have got so much more from it if we'd done things differently...anyway pics now!
[IMG]http://i581.photobucket.com/albums/s...rtday4club.jpg[/IMG]

We spent over an hour here while we discussed where we were going to eat dinner. The original plan was to eat on City Walks but we had realised that we weren't getting the full expereince from the hard rock so we wanted to wander round and eat in the hotel's restaurant the kitchen.

Loved it here, wasn't packed but wasn't empty either, relaxed atmosphere but a really nice place. Our server pulled a chair round, sat down and explained the menu to us, he was really good, very attentive wihtout being a pain.
It was one of the most expensive meals of the holiday though but the food was really really gorgeous and I would certainly pay these prices on a return visit. The kids were happy too, you'll see why in a bit!
Here's our scrummy bread to start

the kids virgin cocktail

my, not so virgin, screaming banshee, was like slush and divine!

Then look who we bumped into on his way out

I had seared ahi Tuna to start, oh my god, loved loved loved it, the rice was gorgeous and the Tuna was melt in the mouth..

Chris Beef Quesidilla

This was like a meal in itself, he couldn't finish it
My main was the New York steak with chunky chips

Chris had the lamb special

which he loved too.
Then the kids were thrilled to see some characters

Just an all round brilliant experience here, glad we chose to eat in thhe hotel.
And we got back to the room and put the kids away in the wardrobe,as you do

for anyone horrified, they went in there willingly, no pushing needed, and yes we let them out after a bit;)

I know I've said Universal isn't for me, but so galad we've done it, all in all a good day, I really enjoyed the mummy, we all loved MIB and Chris is now desperate to do one of the halloween horror nights, he has been looking all over the iinternet about them, that will have to wait for a good few years yet tho, kids way to young!

It was finally catching up with me, I zonked out at 9.30pm til the morning!
Tomorrow is breakfast with Spiderman and IOA!
