Oct 2015 on & offsite food report-a little late! **COMPLETE**

So we were travelling 25th October to 12th November. Me(Debbie) and DBF Arron. There are photos, just not for today!

25th October-pre travel day

A relative drove us to Gatwick, and we were staying at Hilton South terminal, so we stopped in TGI Fridays Crawley at 3pm.

No photos here, but as the holiday had officially started I had a Purple Rain and Arron had a Margarita and boneless wings. He always loves the wings in there!

Mains were the 3 Little Pigs Sandwich for me and JD Chicken sandwich for Arron. Mine was really yummy with plenty of meat and a nice ciabatta too.

Arron had a Lynchburg lemonade, I wangted the Red Velvet dessert cocktail. Biut they couldn't make it so I got a Barnamint Baileys instead. Nice and minty. :o:

We were done with this meal by around 5:30pm so were dropped at Twlight Check in.

So after the photoless 1st day, things get better!

26th October-travel day

We headed through security and decided on breakfast around 9am.

Frankie and Bennys

I ordered a pot of tea while Arron had OJ.

Then for actual breakfast I ordered the French toast with Bacon and Arron had the Smoked Salmon and Egg bagel. We also ordered a side of Hash browns.

Our breakfast was more successful than the previous year when they got my order wrong! And we always like being able to watch the planes.

We had quite a while to wander so did get a drink in the Flying Horse( no photos).

Plane food
I like plane food anyway :d: But the food was actually nice. From memory(and a few notes), we both had Pulled Beef with Boston beans and mash. The generic Virgin salad with Boursin and a roll and a Mango cheesecake.

My Vodka and orange is in the background there. I really liked everything other than the Boursin! And Arron gave me his cheesecake too :o:

Later we had the little Fab lollies, but again no photos

We also got the lunch boxes of shortbread, crisps and wraps(excuse the bad photo). We really liked these too. So all in all a good flight for food.

So after we landed we took just over an hour to get out of the airport, and a little while later we were checking into Rosen at Pointe Orlando.

Around 8pm we headed back out, after hearing reviews Arron was convinced he would love Millers, so off we went...

Milers Alehouse
You will learn this, but we LOVED Millers. It is so relaxed and we felt that we fitted in, also the menu was huge too.

We have receipts somewhere but Arron definitely had some cocktails on this night.

For mains though I ordered Asian Chicken, it was delicious with pineapple on it too. The only issue was that little pot of white creamy stuff...it was so sweet and I still have no idea what it was :erm:

Arron ordered Ribs as they were on the specials for the day, again he really enjoyed these.

I may come back in to update prices on here, but Millers is such good value and the portions are very generous too.

Next day is at Universal and i'll try to update soon, as obviously we have all the notes and photos ready!

Can you post the photos into your report? Instead of separate links (makes it tricky to read) :) x

That Asian chicken sounds delicious - I ordered sweet potato fries and they had cinnamon sugar over them 😁

Hmm maybe that little pot was cinnamon sugar of some sort :erm: I love sweet potato though. Yum.

Update 11/03

So we're onto our first full day of the trip. Today was the first of many in Universal.

27th October-Universal

Apologies, as today really is abit short of photos

We got to Universal by 8am so were peckish at 8:30ish. Starbucks had a long queue so we ended up elsewhere...

San Francisco Candy Factory
The food in here always looks so delicious.
http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/a...ndy_Inside.jpg

So we both a cookie each, Arron had the Peanut Butter Cup cookie and I had the White chocolate chip one. These were about $8 and were really good.

Arron loved his, but it was too nutty for me. They were absolutely huge and really filled a breakfast void.

Moe's
It was raining at 11am so we popped into Moes for a Sprite and a Duff.

Burger Digs
After the relatively small breakfast we had lunch at 1pm. Again no photos :(
I had a Chicken sandwich and Arron had a 1/3 lb burger with chips and drinks. It was $28 altogether which seemed a bit steep.

Just regular theme park food I suppose but good for what it was.

Antojitos
Before we went to Orlando we had really wanted to try Antojitos, we saw it last trip but didn't have a chance to go there.

By 5pm we had been rained on and were thinking we would head out to eat and off for an early night.

We got to Antojitos and ordered drinks. Arron had a Margarita.
http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/a...tos%20marg.jpg

I had the Repo Man, which was really strong :o:
http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/a...ito%20drin.jpg

Luckily they had provided water and we got free chips & dips while we chose our meals.
http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/a...-antojitos.jpg

The lighting in there is very red and it was really quiet too. For such a big restaurant it was a tad disconcerting!

For mains Arron had the Burrito. He seemed to quite like it and the portion was a fair size, as you can see it was served with guacamole and refried beans.
http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/a...7/IMAG0235.jpg

I chose the Shrimp tacos and was SO disappointed. They sounded really nice on the menu but they were tiny when they arrived and had cheese on them which threw me off. Also it all seemed a bit cold considering they weren't busy.
http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/a...tos%20food.jpg

All in all we wouldn't go back to Antojitos. The food was not upto the standard we expected and the atmosphere was severely lacking. It was about $70 and just didn't seem worth it :nonono:
