Quebec 2016 - On y va LIVE - Day 14 - Whale Watching

Woke up at 6am to the sound of rain - a quick look at the weather forecast reassured me that it would be gone by lunch!

I made croissants (out of a tin ;) ) for breakfast.

A bit dull in the main living area. We spent an hour watching the Olympics before setting out at 9.45am

Across the river there was some very low lying clouds.

We drove to Riviere du Loup, had a look round the mall and ended up at the Cage again. Free wifi has a lot to answer for ;)

Thus was DH's nachos. I had the same salmon as the other day. Why change a winning formula.

We arrived at the port just as our boat was coming in. The sun was out :)

We saw some belugas in the distance, lots of minke whales - one very close to the boat and a fin whale which is the second biggest in the area.

Difficult to get good pictures.

The guide was very good - lots of interesting info. I even understood his French!

We also saw lots of seals but impossible to get any photos of them looking anything but dots.

It was a fabulous trip. Definitely worth it.

Ee drove back, had dinner and then the usual ice cream. This is my vanilla whippy dipped in maple chocolate - delicious.

After the ice cream we went down to the river at Riviere Ouelle to watch the sun set.

Another wonderful day!

Tomorrow is our last full day at this house. Will see how we feel tomorrow as to what we will do!

Wow! I dont know what I am more impressed by, the whales or that ice cream! I think the ice cream, never seen anything that yummy before! :d:

Lovely to see whales in their natural environment though...

Looking forward to your next chapter!

Beluga whales! :)

How long was your journey out to the whale-spotting "area"?

We've gone whale-watching in Hawaii twice - and Wow! - we loved it, but DH isn't terribly keen on a L-O-N-G journey out to sea...

Those nachos look delicious! And that maple choc-dipped ice cream!

Glad the rain stopped for your whale-watching trip.

How did you tear yourself away from that house and those sunsets?
