Do they start early on 3rd as I remember last time we went they did

just checked the calendar and you are right! That said it will still likely be an entire weekend event for many retailers.

Yes they start on the 3rd we've done this before and found the offers really good. We nipped back on the 4th for a few things and felt the shops had less choice
