US Express Passes How many do we need?

When we stayed at the hard rock in 2011 we met up with friends who had a little girl, they used our Room key express passes while we watched her and vice versa. This year were going as a group of 7 adults and 3 children. Do you think 4 express passes will be enough to use along child swap?

Nowadays your express pass is your room key - it has your name printed on it, however they don't really look at your name in the express pass queues for rides.

What will be a problem however is that they have recognition technology in the lines - you stand in front of a machine and I believe it analyses your height/shape and bleeps, then turns green to let you past. I doubt you'd be able to get away with sharing the passes between multiple people for this reason.

You won’t be able to share the passes. You would need a pass each. I few years back they didn’t really look at them but this year they were very hot on checking both the names and with the facial recognition. It’s not in all rides but in May we split up and I had my dh pass by mistake. I was the keeper of the passes!
They wouldn’t let me on and I had to go and retrieve my pass.

The child swap areas tend to be at the end of the ride queue.

Ah thanks both!

as above
Universal has moved to a facial recognition system

so unless you're identical twins, you'll each need to have express passes

the cheapest way to get them is to get a room at RPR (enough rooms for everybody of course)
