Plenty of offsite delights ~ June 2014 ~ Food Report ~ COMPLETED
Hi everyone :wavey:
First time I've done one of these, I normally just include the food with my main trip report but since we have a separate section for food, I thought why not split it! The food is a big part of our holiday but I have to say this time there are no trips to bahama breeze, outback. longhorns even though I am a fan of all of those This time I wanted to try places I hadn't before and I wanted to try and keep the budget fairly low for food..we also did take out more as we had our infant daughter with us.. I know lots of people ask about takeouts and prices etc. So although maybe not the most gastronomic report ever I will include locations and prices in the hope that it may help someone. Here's a list of all the places we ate so you can see if any interest you and I will update each link every time I post, As soon as my photos are sorted I will make a start! :) Our Location was the Esprit community on US27 Davenport Travel Day 17.06.14 Giraffe T1 Manchester Airport Thomas Cook Plane Food Papa Johns Takeaway Day 1 18.06.14 Cape May Cafe Character Breakfast Teak Neighbourhood Grill Day 2 19.06.14 Walmart Shop Friendlys I Drive Day 3 20.06.14 Confisco grille - IOA Subway Davenport Day 4 21.06.14 Publix Deli Cheesecake Factory Day 5 22.06.14 Premium Outlet Food Hall - China Max Day 6 23.06.14 Pizza Hut Delivery -192 Day 7 24.06.14 Various Disney Snacks McDonald Drive thru -192 Pecos Bill MK Day 8 25.06.14 Chilis to go -lunch menu (Cagan's Crossing) Day 9 26.06.14 Three Broomsticks - IOA Nascar Grille - Citywalk Day 10 27.06.14 Beverly Hills Boulangerie - Universal Chilis to go -Dinner Menu - Cagan's Crossing Day 11 28.06.14 Bamboo Wok - Chinese Takeout - Berry Town Center Day 12 29.06.14 Busch Gardens all day dining deal Zagora Cafe Pantopia Grill Crown Colony Cafe Day 13 30.06.14 Beverly Hills Boulangerie - Universal (again!) Hi everyone, thanks for joining me! lets get started shall we...
Breakfast was in Giraffe T1 Manchester. Initially I was disappointed that we wouldn't be starting our hols at Frankie and Benny's like we have previously but that soon passed! I had a 10% discount voucher from eatdrinkfly (discount does not include drinks) Our holiday breakfast always starts with these http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/atta...1&d=1404429979 http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/atta...1&d=1404430067 Just to get us in the holiday mood, but the food was lovely too! I had Fried Eggs on Foccachia with Smoked Salmon and fried eggs http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/atta...1&d=1404430448 I really enjoyed this mmmm Chris had a breakfast special, he always has this if it's on the menu - he cleaned the plate! http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/atta...1&d=1404430583 Jess had a kids sausage egg and beans but she polished this off before I could get a photo Brandon had a chocolate brownie ( I know hardly breakfast but we were on the way to the USA! And Poppy had a kids porridge (the bowl was huuuuggee! ) http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/atta...1&d=1404430844 The total bill was £37.03 with the discount (but our alcoholic drinks cost £8.55 so not bad for airport food! We left a tip too, but not 20% as we're not on American soil yet! |

Not the most exciting post, but the food on the plane was..standard plane food for me. I can grt take it or leave it, DH loves it! James Martin does the food for Thomas Cook. I didn't find it much different then previous trips to be honest!
Choice was Sauasge and Mash or Chicken curry. We chose one of each so we could sample both. apologies for the photo quality here, with an almost 2 year old on my knee, it was challenging at times! http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/atta...1&d=1404462197 http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/atta...1&d=1404462329 Kids meal was spaghetti Bolagnaise, and we had the usual cold pack with bread, butter, cheese and and chocolate mousse in it. Then later we were given a cheese sandwich and an Egg one (I think) http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/atta...1&d=1404578025 |

Now we've arrived and have the usual dilemma of where to go for tea, I spend all this time researching but when we get here my brain is fried and I can't think!
so after a quick google search we decide Pizza is the simplest option and settle on Papa Johns. I started the order then realised it was coming up a tad expensive for me, so another quick search for offers and I found codes for large pizzas half price. So I ordered 2 large Pizza's ($6.50 each) A cheese one (kids don't do many toppings!) and a buffalo chicken one (I am obsessed with all things buffalo!) We also had a 2L bottle of pepsi and chicken Poppers with Ranch sauce http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/atta...1&d=1404462838 http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/atta...1&d=1404462988 Total was $26.75 with tax and delivery. I paid $32 with tip. It was delivered from Papa Johns 17445 US highway 192, Clermont |
Great start! Can't wait for the rest! Xx :) :)
