Sounds like a lot of fun! And quite exhausting!

Ooh looking good. We’re just out here at the mo, am coming to the end of our trip:(, but when you are at Monterey, instead of the Aquarium, go to Moss Landing and hire kayaks to kayak Elkhorn Slough. One of our best experiences. You got to see loads of otters, seal and pelicans in their natural environment. Much better than an aquarium.

Also we stayed at a place called Treebones Resort ( yurts) on the Big sur and it was the best place. Really chilled and relaxed, great food and a good base to see the elephant seals, Hearst Castle and myriads of beaches and hikes.

we recently stayed at the wave inn at Cannery Row in Monterey - lovely hotel. previously we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which is nearby and did a good breakfast
