Best gaming laptop
Please can someone recommend me a good gaming laptop for 10+ yr old .
Want to play roblox ,apex legends and fort nite on the laptop because his iPad is limited as to what you can play . Thanks in advance . |
We bought our lad a Medion Erazor Gaming laptop, i think we paid £1200 for it.
It weights a ton, 17.3 inch screen, but he was happy with it... until my eldest lad bought a gaming pc and now Jed wishes he had a pc as apparantly they are easier to upgrade... |

Wow that is a lot I was try inking about £600-700 He wanted a pc too but they are not so portable so wondering to go down the laptop route for now |
I know absolutely nothing about this type of thing but below is the one my 12 year old son wants. Last time I looked I think it was about £650. He’s deciding between this and a PS5 🙄

We’re looking at getting an ASUS for my son. Price varies, but we’re looking at about £700 for TUF with 8Gb RAM and 512Gb SSD hard disk.
Argos had one as “coming soon” on their website but now it’s disappears 😢 |

Though a pc is a lot easier to upgrade, have a look at ebuyer (ebuyer.co.uk) - they have a gaming laptop section - a better selection then curry’s ect. Usually better prices then amazon, wouldn’t buy this sort of thing from Argos, as it tends to be older tech - not great for the longevity of a gaming laptop. https://www.ebuyer.com/947795-medion...660ti-30027139 This is just on their front page - £899 https://www.ebuyer.com/989548-medion...win10-30028176 - similar spec to the amazon one - £699 |
I have an ASUS G14 (2020), and it's really good, this was £1200.00 though, there is currently a special offer on a Razer Bade 2019 for £1199.99 on Amazon, and that is an absolute steal.
The problem you have with getting one in the £6-700 range, is it'll likely only have 8gb ram (sometimes this can't be upgraded in a laptop, you need to ensure there is a free slot and it's not soldered on), and you'll probably have a weak graphics card. You need to try and push to the £1000-£1200 range to really get bang for your buck. |
Do you want the best/good gaming laptop or simply a laptop that will be able to play those games you list?
The best gaming laptop will probably set you back over £3000. Whereas a laptop that will probably play those games will cost £700 (and above). Unfortunately, gaming laptops aren't cheap. |
We bought a Medion Erazer for DD for uni and she wanted one that was powerful enough for her gaming too.
She was struggling to get one in the price range but managed to buy hers in an Ebuyer sale for £525 (was originally around £800-900). She loves it and it’s been powerful enough for all her needs. It is a bit heavier than the ‘normal’ type of laptop but she doesn’t carry it far so it’s not an issue for her. She’s had it around 15 months now and is still very happy with it Edited to add: she put the laptop in the basket at £600 but we thought it over and the next day we checked and had an email saying it had been further reduced to £525. I’d heard that happens sometimes but it’s the only time I’ve benefitted from it. Nice saving though 😀 |
We didnt want to spend stupid amounts when my 16yr old was after one and after much research we got this from Amazon sold by a 3rd party. Great reviews, good spec and the order was here within 24hrs and its been spot on.
