Quebec 2016 - On y va LIVE - Day 8 Travel To Levis
After a relatively late get up (after 7am ;) ), DH went to Timmy's to get some muffins for breakfast. He also came back with a grilled cheese for F which was much appreciated! We finished the packing and then headed to the lake (what else! ) A fame was played of how far they could jump. A lot of cheating seemed to be involved! DH joined in - though apparently it was very cold! F was never going to win - being the littlest does have its disadvantages. We returned to the cabin at 10.15 and packed up the car. The owner arrived at 11 - it was nice to meet him. We were all sad to be leaving after a wonderful first week. We decided to go cross country - I drove. We descended and the terrain got flatter and we saw more crops than trees as we got nearer the Saint Lawrence river. We stopped in Louiseville for lunch. We reckoned we halved the average age in the restaurant. It was a little strange. The birthday boy (who didn't want much fuss - he had had his present a month ago - an iphone6 - and was insistent that he didn't want anything else) wanted pizza and fries - so that is what he got. F and J had grilled cheese and fries. I had an egg sandwich and fries which was very odd. It had a fried egg, mayo and lettuce. It was edible. Cost C$45 including tip. We continued towards Quebec City - following the GPS. We started heading into downtown and realised that it was taking us to the ferry. Err- no thanks! We turned round and got ourselves across the river. We are at the Quality Inn - functional. Dinner was at a local sports bar. I had a salmon ciabatta and fries. It was lovely. F went healthy and had salmon, broccoli and rice. J had a burger and O had fish and chips. We were too stuffed for dessert. We have headed back to the hotel and will go down to the river in an hour to watch the fireworks. Ice cream - we came here a lot last year. The birthday boy's ice cream. And mine and DH's - vanilla Mr Whippy dipped on chocolate. Calorie free of course. Then on to the fireworks - this was the first night and was set to opera music. A great end to a birthday! |

Fireworks look lovely, and so does the salmon and broccoli! Even when you are not eating the food you see on the reports, after a whole you need something healthy to look at! :d:
Looking forward to the next chapter...:wavey: |
A good day with fireworks to finish :spin:
