Spencem & Angelmouse Live(ish) in LA Day 2

Sunday 21st Dec, Day 2

Today's instalment by Angelmouse

I woke at about 5am having slept well, our friends appeared about 8am. Spencem was still not well and asking for a doctor. Our friend Dave found the details of their local medial centre and I called the travel insurance. After a delicious home cooked breakfast (for me and son at least) Dave and I took hubby to the medical centre, where they took one look at Spencem and told us to go to the ER instead! By now he could hardly breath or walk suffering from intense abdominal pain. When we got to the ER it was empty and so he was seen straight away, just like you would be in the UK. They were excellent quickly setting him up on a drip and putting some big pain killer in him which helped a lot. A CT scan quickly followed to see what the pain was about. In the end they concluded he had a bad throat infection/tonsillitis which was affecting his glands. They let him out with prescriptions for antibiotics and pain killers.

We went back to Dave's house where hubby retired to bed for most of the day and I helped Teresa with her Christmas baking while Son got to know their two daughters. After another delicious home cooked meal (you'll spot a trend, Teresa loves to cook and is great at it) we watched a film on their 106" projector.

Not quite the day at Magic Mountain we had planned, but it did in a bizarre way help us gel the two families together. Spencem ha :thumb: has been over for work, but I've not seen Teresa for 10 years and Dave for about 6 when he was last int he UK for his work. By the end of the day I'd cried on Dave's shoulder and Dave had seen Spencem with his skin off by watching the monitor in the CT scan room.
