Royolton Antigua used to be Royal Antiguan and was shut down many years ago as the building was in a bad state of repair, I think it has had a major renovation but remains the one and only high rise hotel on an island where you shouldn't build higher than a palm tree.

I dont know it now but it is on a lovely bay and has a great beach. It's not close to anything at all. Nothing in walking distance and is very close as the boat goes to the port area so I'm not sure about the quality of the water. We used to walk up the nearby hill to the fort at the top which had great views.

It would not be my choice of Antiguan hotel, I guess it may be cheap.

Antigua is so beautiful is there not another hotel? We’ve been to the verandah but that’s more family based. I am hoping to go back in feb. Absolutely gorgeous place.

You are absolutely right there are some beautiful parts of Antigua. Just be careful when you book now as some resorts are not yet open and depending on demand may not open. Also check for reports of Sargasum seaweed which can affect many Caribbean resorts.

February will be a fabulous time to visit, I am sure you will enjoy it and like other tourist destinations they need the help to keep people employed.

I’m planning on visiting in 2021. Been to DR twice but now going to check out the rest of the Caribbean. Yes Antigua looks beautiful. Will look around and see what looks nice. Seaweed wasn’t too bad in DR. Hotels did their best to take it up with tractors every morning

Ok. As a follow on I’m now looking at St Lucia at the windjammer landings resort for November 21. Anyone been ?
