Siesta Key v AMI

We have been to AMI a few times now. We love the island.

We are doing a bit of a florida road trip. Thoughts at the moment are Fort Lauderdale just for 1 night (as we are flying into Miami airport) then over to Naples for 2-3 nights. We are then heading up to Orlando.

Flying back from Tampa so thinking of a couple of nights around the Sarasota area. We love AMI but as we have been a few times thinking of elsewhere. Been to Clearwater and St Petes which are ok (too commercialised) but much prefer places like AMI.

Siesta Key looks nice. How does this compare to AMI for the people who have been to both. Would we be disappointed after AMI?.

Also does anyone have any recommendations for condos in Siesta Key. We have stayed at Sunshine Garden Resort which we love and Anna Maria Inn on the beach, so looking for something similar.

We love Siesta Key..💕

We always stay in a house/bungalow and have used Owners Direct/Homeaway... Siesta 4 Rent and The Cottages on the Key.
These rental companies also offer Condo's.

Siesta Key village has a lot to offer with regards to eating...drinking and shopping.
We tend to frequent the bars on Main Street in Sarasota...they always have a good vibe.
We also enjoy evenings at At Armand's Circle...that gets very busy as well.

I don't think you'll be disappointed, AMI is a beautiful place...but so is Siesta Key..🌴🌞💖

We've been to both and they are both as beautiful as each other!

As they are less than 15 miles apart does it matter? How can you visit AMI multiple times and not visit Siesta Key?

Yes it does matter, because we will be staying for 2-3 nights so would like to be able to walk to restaurants. have a drink etc so would prefer not to drive between the 2.

AMI has been sandwiched in between lots of other places we have visited during the same holiday, eg New York, Miami and Orlando on one trip. Savannah, Washington, St Augustine (plus other areas), so just chilled out at AMI. The 3rd time we went was with friends who just wanted to do AMI. Hence the reason for wanting to try Siesta Key this holiday.

That's ok..:thumbs-up

I forgot to mention that there are free trolley buses on Siesta Key and cabs that just rely on tips not fares.
You can drink without worrying about the car.

If you want any more info... I'm happy to help..💖

We've been to SK twice and love it and apart from the beach its the eating, drinking and shopping options all in walking distance which really make the trip for us. I was therefore wondering how does AMI compare to SK?

Is it the similar or are the restaurants and shops more spaced out and less concentrated.

We have driven around AMI...but not stayed there.
It does look like it offers similar to SK from what we've seen.

We also like to eat..shop...drink at At Armand's Circle.
A short drive from either of these 2 islands and parking is free after 20.00...or free at the beach side (on the road).
