Thomas Cook

I sure there was a long thread on this? where did it go?

MrIncredible 21 Sep 19 01:27 PM

It descended into the usual Jeremy Kyle style arguments.

I assume it has been removed as some personal remarks towards others were being thrown around..

It's a shame as there was some great info on it, but I appreciate it would have been a full time job to remove the vitriol from the useful points.

Hopefully now we have a "do-over" we can stick to civil discussion. Disagreement is fine, civil argument too, but personal attacks are just not needed...

What do you think will happen if it does all go badly and people have flights cancelled? Do you think other companies will put on more flights to soak up the trade or will they just put flight prices up and make money that way?

We’re not going til next August but we got cheaper flights with TC , less than £600 each when virgin was over £800 each. For 6 of us it’s a bit of an extra to have to pay!

I’m glad there is a new thread. We are booked flight only leaving 2/10. The thread had some very useful info on it. I can’t say I’m not worried about what will happen. There are 8 of us flight only including 4 kids on their first trip to Orlando. Villa, tickets, car parking, basketball , shows all paid for in advance. Just need to find out what’s happening with our flights. I’m sure we will be able to get others , we are determined to. We are fortunate ( I think) that we fly mid week and not school hols.
Would be good if this thread was able to keep going without the descent into nonsense.
Post and play nice please as some of us do have an invested interest.

Am I right in thinking I can only claim my hotel and flights through ATOL and would lose what I’ve paid for all my tickets? (I don’t have ESF on my Insurance)

Other companies may put on more flights but I would hate to see how much they'll charge!
The good VH deal I got for early next year has already doubled in price just since yesterday! So, unfortunately the other companies will use this to jump at any chance to inflate their prices to make a quick gain knowing demand will be there!
Bad News.
