Day Eight - Thursday 15th October - Part 1

So here we are…already at the end of the first week :(. As it was MNSSHP tonight we had decided to spend the morning at the house relaxing. Did some bits of washing and ironing and DH and DM played pool. We had a light lunch before leaving the house around 2pm to head over to my favourite shopping place; Premium Outlets at LBV! Not long after we arrived the thunderstorm and rain started and it was sooooo heavy. When we were ready to leave DH ended up going to get the car and picking us up but we still got very wet. Happy to report it was still hot though!

Headed off to MK for our dinner reservation at Crystal Palace and when we arrived at the car park it resembled a shallow swimming pool but at least the thunder had stopped and the rain had eased off so it was just heavy now instead of the torrential of the last hour! Arrived at CP bang on time for our ADR and it was chaos under the veranda because of the weather. We waited quite a while to be seated but got there eventually and spent the time admiring Halloween outfits on our fellow diners. We had eaten dinner here last trip and really enjoyed it so decided we would give it another go and this time it was just ok. The characters didn’t all get round to us, which for me is why I am prepared to pay extortionate (compared to offsite) buffet prices. The food was good and plentiful although the service left a lot to be desired and we were quickly getting cold as we were wet!

The rain had eased a lot by the time we left and we got our maps with all the trick or treat trails and headed off to the first one at POTC, after which we rode the ride omitting to remind DM about the small drop, hehehe! ;) She had been on it last year though so we weren’t being too naughty! Went over to BTMRR and DF & DH rode in the dark which IMO makes it a completely different ride. DM & I sat at the entrance watching the world go by and marvelling at people’s costumes. More candy was collected next before the Boo to You parade which I think is my favourite parade overall. The headless horseman at the beginning is really good and the grave diggers are easily the best thing in the parade. The sparks they create are amazing but I can never capture it on camera.

On the way for a drinks break we stopped at another candy trail before heading for a sit down in the cool and a drink in Pecos Bill’s.
