WDW With A British Accent - Day 5 Downtown Disney, Magic kingdom & The wave

We had a leisurely start this morning.
First was a quick stop by the big Walmart on the 192 for some bits and pieces.

Then on to downtown disney

As you will probably be aware there is a lot of building work going on at Downtown Disney at the moment.

Cookes of Dublin seems like a good choice for a quick spot of lunch.

Fish and Chip lunch

We have booked the Wave for dinner tonight.

Sea scallops with a cheddar risotto

Beef Tenderloin with potato and parsnip puree

Flat Iron Steak with Leek and Potato Gratin and seasonal veg

Trio of Ice Cream

On to an evening at Magic Kingdom

The balloon shot

Wishes time

Where were you for Wishes? I lie the photos you took of the castle and fireworks from that angle.

Great photos and some tasty looking food.

If you come out of tomorrowland past Stitch there is a bridge, that is where these were taken.
I like this area as it isn't crowded and there are no trees in your eyel line.

It does mean the fireworks aren't all behind the castle though.

We was going to eat at Kona Cafe at the Polly but we changed things a couple of days ago and booked the Wave instead.

I have eaten in this restaurant before they revamped it into the Wave, the food always was good but the atmosphere felt like a food court. Now with the Wave feels more like a signature restaurant. It has a very calming atmosphere with golds and dark colours with subdued lighting.

The service was great, we weren't rushed and everyone was friendly.

The food was excellent, I am not normally a seafood person but the scallops were sweet and the rossoto complimented the dish with masses of flavour.

Tracy had the Beef Tenderloin and said it was one of the best steaks she has ever had. I had the Flat Iron and you could cut it with the fork, very tender and very tasty.

All in all the Wave is now in our Top Restaurants to visit.

Great updates
How was the parking at DTD with the closure of a couple of the car parks for construction?

Stu 9 Oct 13 10:20 PM

Parking was fine, it is the middle car park that is closed, there is plenty of parking up near cirque and also the other end down near T-Rex and the Marketplace.

Thanks for the review of the Wave, Stu, off to look at the menu, had always discounted it until now, not quite sure why!
