Malta. A New Place.
A quick stay at the Budget Ibis at Birmingham is always good for an 0705 flight, or stupid-o-clock as I like to call it. The steak I had was actually very nice but the folks I chatted to called the fish pie "hunt the fish pie" so bare that in mind. Flight on time, slept most of it and they had plenty of passport officers so all in all swift. Hotel screwed up my booking, despite emails and calls to check requests, but fixed everything in an hour including moving my luggage. As I sat in the sun training the bar people to fill up my soda-stream bottle with orange and lemon aid and squeezing ice in too. Heh. But as you can see the view turned out ok. At night it looks good too. They turn off the lights later to conserve energy. That mentality is all round the island, from bathrooms to streets. Met a bunch of great Irish people at dinner. Surprised when I peeled my first blood orange. Tasted great. Room very nautical. Stupid AI bracelet that screams to the world outside the hotel "I'm a tourist. I want scams a plenty, scratch cards I always win for a free villa tour, time share etc. " which means I have to lose it every time I get on the bus and get it replaced on my return. |

The Seabank, been there three times. Great place. Going to the sister hotel in three weeks. Enjoy.

Stayed at the Seabank a couple of years ago, loved it and fell in love with Malta too
