Getting Excited
|
The worst meal of the trip by far. We were a group of 3 adults and 1 child and the who experience was terrible. Dirty table, dirty bathroom, bland server, terrible food, terrible stomach problems that night for the two men. SKIP! |

Lots of fried fish, which is great for some, but not for me. Kids and husband loved it though. Very hectic but the Landry card got us seated quickly. |

Used to love it here and still has a great atmosphere and theming. However I do feel that the food and menu isn’t as good as it used to be. Might have to give it another try next time I visit. |

We visited here for the first time in April after hearing good things. We were really disappointed. They had very little gluten free options so I had a steak, rice and salad. Steak was over cooked and dry and rice was so hard it was inedible. Maybe would have been better to order seafood what they specialise in but thought would be ok with a steak. |

Forrest Gump is my all time favourite film. And this happens to be one of my favourite restaurants!
The staff are super friendly, will even play a trivia game on the movie with you whilst you wait for food!
The food is fantastic! and the cocktails, those are just the best! |

Love this place
Food has always been great and they have a vast menu
Prices have risen in recent years though and I haven't seen them do the Gump quiz in a while

It was OK. Fun theming. Server was friendly and helpful, did the quiz thing - although came back 10 minutes later and started asking us the same questions again. Food was OK but expensive for the quality. After easting in Cowfish the night before, there was no comparison. Cowfish had better food, a better atmosphere and the bill was cheaper. |

Been here twice, the first time in 2015 we had a fantastic meal, it was really good. We returned in 2016 my DD and myself had chicken, it was a really thick chicken breast, both of our chickens were raw in the middle, and I mean raw, not cooked ! They were sent back obviously. It took 20 minutes for our food to return by which time my DH had finished his meal. They didn't charge us for any of our meals and the manager came by three times (most probably because we had landrys card) and couldn't apologise enough, but even so put us off a bit! |

Loved this restaurant!
We used our Landry's card and that 1 hour wait turned into "Right this way, please!".
My cousin and I both were looking for something spicy (not really a thing in Orlando) and ordered the Shrimp New Orleans. Our fantastic server advised it that is was really hot, we excitedly asked him to bring it on - which he loved. It was not really hot but it was easily one of the best meals of our holiday. It was incredibly flavourful and I will not hesitate to visit again. The manager did the usual thanking us for being Landry members and I even emailed to again express how much we liked our server.

This was the only real letdown of our trip this year. Been before and loved it from the theming to the quiz (which we didn't get this time). I also think that being on the disney dining plan and have better quality food in general made this seem like a lesser restaurant, the food was definitely of a lower quality and only1 of the 4 of us truly loved their food. However the bigger sting in the tail was when we ordered the drinks when we sat down, 3 of us ordered a beer and we were asked if we wanted small or large, we of course said large but when the bill came at the end it was only then that we realized that large meant it came in the souvenir glass, at no point did our server explain that too us and we felt duped. |

Possibly our worst meal of the holiday and one of the most expensive. Restaurant was very quiet but we were seated right near the serving entrance so asked to be moved. Service was OK although they did the quiz with other parties but not us. Food was average, felt slightly ill so didn't eat the whole meal. Bill for one adult two kids was over $100 just for main courses and drinks, wouldn't go again. |

We stayed on-site at Universal for 1 night & this is a restaurant that I had wanted to visit, the wife & girls were a little dubious, but I managed to convince them it would be good. Arrived and was seated pretty much immediately, our waitress was excellent, very attentive and up for a laugh and joke with us, which made was already a great atmosphere, even better. The food was good, adjusted the order to suit what the girls wanted or didn't want on their plates & as it happened she predicted what they wouldn't want on their chicken burgers before they had finish ordering...was gave us all a laugh. Great service, atmosphere and food... loved it |

I LOVE me some Bubba Gumps!
My OH is not a fish fan so we were really worried there would be nothing for him to eat off the menu but we've visited twice now and he has had the ribs and burger, both great dishes despite not being a speciality. I had the shrimper's heaven both times...I couldn't help myself, it was so tasty the first time I had to get it again. Could easily be split between two people, if you had someone who liked shrimp too with you.
The theming is immense and with a good server you might also get an impromptu quiz.
Don't know if I could walk past without a visit planned in each trip! |

Enjoyed a meal here with family in the evening while staying at HRH. Didn't need to book and we had a very good night out. The theming and atmosphere is excellent, especially if you have watched the film. All enjoyed our food shrimp choices and otherwise. We were quizzed on our knowledge of the film and this was good fun. Reasonably priced and will definatly go here again. |

WONDERFUL RESTAURANT! Went there on recommendation from my aunty and we are so glad she told us about it. We went at around 6:30pm and only had to wait 5 mins for a table of 5. The themeing of the place is just fabulous! To be honest, I've never watched Forrest Gump and I still had a great time! The staff are so friendly and on your table you have 2 number plates - one saying "Run Forrest Run", meaning you didn't need anything from the waiter or waitress so were left alone, and the other saying "Stop Forrest Stop", which means that ANY available waiter/waitress had to stop and take your order, rather that waiting until your dedicated server was free. Excellent idea! Whilst you wait for your food, your server does a little quiz about the movie with you, stopped us from getting bored! The food was gorgeous! Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone visiting Universal/IOA. :) |

We visited Bubba Gump again last August having visited on our first Florida Trip in 2009 and been somewhat disappointed comparing it to the one in Times Square NYC we had visited previously. We had others with us on this trip who had been with us and it was late in the holiday so they wanted to try something new.
I think the difference in this trip was what time we went because it was in the evening and there was much more atmosphere. If I am being honest the atmosphere was probably helped because I had consumed a few beers throughout the afternoon as was a rare time I was not going to be driving.
The food was great, the atmosphere was great and I must say you have to try the CoronaRita - basically a new drink they do which is a bottle of corona balanced into a Margarita so as you drink it they mix. Very sweet but very amusing drinking them so we bought the mixers and beer bottle holders to bring home for our collection.
I really recommend this place but would say best time to go is early evening onwards rather than lunchtime to get more atmosphere. Still prefer the NYC one though.
AUGUST 2009 REVIEW
My other half was eagerly anticipating visitng this restaurant as she loves her seafood (I don't do seafood but had looked at the menu online so was well catered for). This was so anticipaged as we had previously been to the one in Times Square and the theming and the way the servers were ready to humiliate themselves was very amusing (whenever you turned the sign over to Stop they would stop to attention at your table and shout 'Stop Forest Stop'.
There just didnt seem the atmosphere in Florida that we had seen in NYC. Not saying we were massively disappointed but thats what made us want to go back to this restaurant. When we turned the sign over to Stop all we got was the server who initially took our order come over (after one had passed, seen our sign and ignored us) and show no enthusiasm. It seemed very much like he didnt really want to be there (total contrast to the New York one where I was convinced they must be taking happy pills)
Food was very good, wasn't overly expensive but wasnt cheap either. Overall a good dining experience, and have given it a good rating but much preferred the New York one so think we may give it a miss this August and re-visit the NYC one when we return there at some point. |

This one was my DBF's choice after going to the Bubba Gumps in New York. It was so yummy and didn't disappoint. I had a cocktail (the name of it escapes me but it was a Malibu rum tropical flavoured one) and Rich had a Speckled Lemonade (regular non alcoholic lemonade with actual crushed blueberrys YUMMY! Both with souvenier glasses to take home :)
Food-wise I had the Dixie Fishwich which was devine and Rich had the Boourbon Street Mahi Mahi which was also very tasty, no too spicy and the mash was lovely. No small portions here! We visited her on a Friday night approx 7pm, had to ait about 15 mins for a table and got a lovely booth in a quiet corner. The staff as always were so friendly and couldnt fault them at all. They come over to each table and do some Forrest Gump triva too! Had to stop by the gift shop afterwards too!

I just can't rate Bubba Gumps highly enough!
I don't eat any fish, so was a bit apprehensive, but we wanted to give it a go as my other half loves sea food.
My Mam & sister had the Calamari to share for starters, which they loved. They had the “I’m Stuffed!” Shrimp and Shrimper’s Net Catch (Cajun) as mains, big hits. My other half had the Captain’s Fish & Chips, another hit. I had the
Prime Top Sirloin with mashed potato and a side of gravy, I can honestly say it was on of the best steaks I have ever had.
The staff were great; friendly and efficient. The drinks were refilled regularly, and the cocktail I had was lovely.
Would absolutely go back here, the Forrest Gump trivia was great fun :-)

The food was incredible tasty and I liked that there was a choice of not having seafood as I'm not a big fan of it, but I do love Forrest Gump so I wanted to go for the atmosphere and memorabilia. The service was fantastic and welcoming as well which is a bonus. Would fully reccomend this place. |

Fantastic place had lunch here before going to Universal. We started with the onion rings (very good). I had the yin yang shrimp salad, comes with mango and wanton strips with a wasabi dressing although it is not hot! I really enjoyed it and ate it all. We went here at lunchtime last week, on the recommendation of a friend.
Great server - genuinely nice chap, seemed interested and not full of the fake "have a nice day" stuff.
Food very good - hot, tasty, HUGE portions and very quick service. Nothing was too much trouble here and there was a great selection of beers & sodas.
DS loved the "run forrest run" and "stop forrest stop" signs to get the server's attention. Also, as DS had just bought a new wand and HP t-shirt, the server asked us HP trivia instead of Forrest Gump - brilliant.
Will go back whenever we are in Orlando. Prices not cheap, but order 1 meal between 2, you will still have too much! |

Had dinner here, knowing from a previous visit the portion sizes figured we would just have mains and desert! This isn't a particularly cheap place to eat but we usually come here once per hols. I had battered shrimp with fries and DH had his usual of crab claws, lobster and other sea food in a big pot with jasmine rice (can't remember what they were called!) We had raspberry lemonade and strawberry lemonade to drink very nice and for desert I had the bread pudding with vanilla sauce (not that great tbh) DH had the Alabama mud pie well it's a good job we were sitting down as this was huge and could have quite easily fed 5! Couldn't stop laughing at DH's face, the disbelief! We will continue to go back as it is such fun with the run forest run and stop forest stop signs, and our server kept giving us questions about the film to answer, so bone up before you go! |

One word - Fantastic! This has to be our favourite Orlando restaurant. We ate here twice on this trip and the food, service, atmosphere is second to none.
Shrimpers Heaven is massive but worth every penny and Im ashamed to say I finished the lot and im not a big eater! The children loved it as the waiters asked them Spongbob questions every time they walked past and asked me and DH Forrest Gump questions - it was great fun! Highly recommend to anyone even if you dont like shrimp! We went at Xmas/New year and the longest wait we had was 30 mins, which we spent at the bar. Enjoy! |

we visited on a friday evening and altough seemed busy we were seated straight away.the servers were all really friendly one a little to friendly! asked us the forest gump questions which i think is a nice touch.i had onion rings and texan cajun chicken sandwich and have to say it was delicious one of the nicest things i ate on holiday.
the kids loved their dinner coming out in little boats.
the only negative was they were so pushy with the shrimp meals when we had told the server we didnt like shrimp.

We went on a Monday at 2pm and the restaurant was absolutely dead! Our server seemed a little distracted, and like he was ticking off a list of things he had do to e.g. ask us 3 trivia questions about the film. He really didn't want to be there, but we didn't let it put us off- I prefer it when you don't have a server keep pestering you!
We had Cajun shrimp and onion rings to start. The onion rings were amazing! Really tasty and came as a tower oif really chunky rings, really good. My husband wasn't too fussed on the cajun shrimp. We both had the cheeseburgers for main course and these were really good too. Our soft drinks were refilled twice at no extra charge.
Didn't have any space for dessert but the choices look really good.
Will definitely return when we go back to Florida, it was a really good meal, and not too expensive, and I loved all the film memorabillia and photos around the restaurant. Just a shame about the server. |

Was a nicely themed restaurant. Great location as well if you are just coming into City Walk for a walk about or a meal. Found though because I was dining on my own I was left to my own devices. Staff were friendly. Quality of food was excellent. Nice and fresh and hot. Would eat here again. Highly recommend it if you like sea food. |

Another favourite of ours , have visited Bubba's several times now and the we have never been disappointed. The restaurant has been clean and staff friendly.
You may have to wait before being seated in peak times as this restaurant is popular but the wait is worth it.
If you are a Shrimp lover then this is the place for you! |

Great dining experience. 5 of us in our party, thought we might struggle to find meals for everybody, I'm the only one that will eat shrimp! However no problems they all had the pulled pork rolls and I had Shrimp Heaven. Good service and novel method with the flippable signs for server assistance. Looking forward to our next visit. |

Where to begin?! I was really looking forward to this restaurant but have to give it a huge thumbs down. Had to wait for ages even though it wasn’t busy but we were finally shown to our table.
Our server was nice enough but did not explain about the ‘run forest run’ & ‘stop forest stop’ signs (this is to show them you want another drink etc). Thought it was due to them not being busy and he would come to us quite often but no, I saw him explaining to other tables. If it wasn’t for the Dibb I wouldn’t even know about it.
Right so we ordered our starter and mains…..which came out at the same time?! I told the server who took it back only for someone else to bring them out again 2 minutes later! They went cold and we had to ask for it to be taken back. I thought it was just our bad luck but it happened to another table.
With everything taken in to account we would never go back there again. |

Great idea thats be brilliantly done. Restaurant looks brilliant.
Not a prawn (shrimp) eater, so tasted other dishes on the menu and food superb. Also never heard a bad opinion from Family and GF on the shrimp. Visited New York restaurant too, and Orlando certainly a much better looking and executed version.
Staff great, very friendly and regularly question you on the film.

Ok so I know the clue is in the name and this restaurant specialized in shrimp - but i had a burger. It was just average and a bit bland nothing special overall. DBF had 'scampi' which is an interpretation of scampi involving shrimp which he didn't mind but the dish had capers in which he now knows he does not like at all lol, but it would have been nice for a pre warning so he could ask what they were. Themeing of the place is top notch though pretty fun place to be just a shame about the food wouldn't be going back in a hurry. |

Our second visit to Bubba's. We came last year and really enjoyed our experience. Didn't need to wait for table, although we went at around 4pm, so probably not a peak time. Staff friendly and played obligatory quiz with us. Food was nice, make sure you order the shrimp, it's really good. Only negative aspect is both times we have been, they seem to be doing some staff morale/training session in the back part of the restaurant, this can be quite noisy. |

This was by far our favourite restuarant in Orlando. The kids loved it as well as my wife and I. The service was top class, and the food even better. The staff were very friendly and asked us on a number of occasions if everything was to our satisfaction. They even gave us a mini Forrest Gump quiz, which we failed at deadfully! I highly recommend the 'Bucket of Boat Trash' meal. It's to die for and a huge meal. This restaurant also serves non-seafood dishes, for those who aren't seafood lovers. Fairly inexpensive too. |

Great food here. Probably the best we had while in Florida. I had the Mahi Mahi and it was fab. DW had Salmon which she said was one of the best she has had. Kids enjoyed theirs and portion size was great. The only thing was that it was a bit rushed, but we were seated straight away. |

We ate here may 2008 and loved it. The theming is brilliant. It's a good idea to brush up on forrest gump before you visit as the staff will ask you question( we didnt get very many right as it had been a long time since we had watched the film) Can't remember what we ate but i know it was shrimps food was lovely and staff were very nice. Would go back again |

Can't say enough good things about Bubba Gumps, the food was excellent, the server was brilliant getting the next table to join in with a quiz (won all by myself).
Went during mardi gras so we had a cocktail each (after being convinced the waitress) and must say they were good but potent. |

We visited Bubba Gumps on 9th July 2007 with a party of 10, we were seated beside a window on the right hand side. I don't usually say bad things about places but this was the worst place we ate at during our 2 week stay. We were all cold and our meals were all cold very quickly. I had a cheeseburger and fries which arrived cold and the burger was raw, and when the waitress was informed she just asked was everyone else ok. In defence of Bubba Gumps 4 out of the 10 meals order were classed as delicious, but unfortunately i'm the only member of the Dibb and i didn't enjoy the experience. Our server wasn't very friendly either. I have noticed that everyone else has had good experiences here so holpefully this is a one off. |

After hearing great things we had to visit. We went late afternoon and luckily it was fairly quiet so got seated straight away. Great service, very friendly server she knew the menu well and explained anything we needed her to. The food was lovely, great service. We will definately go back next visit. |

Ate here twice during our stay at RPR - the food was excellent on both occasions but the experience can be affected greatly by your server. Our first one was simply superb and fully earned a huge tip, the second a lot poorer and got little! It was very busy in December and subsequently there was a wait for a table (very short usually, if there are only two of you) but the food service was also much slower the second and busier time. I loved the way you could flag down any server with your sign if you needed anything and it definitely works - much better than trying to attrract your servers eye when they have their back to you; wish more places would adopt it! Good value on the whole and will definitely go back in the future. |

Probably the worst meal we have ever had in Florida,the restaurant seemed to be run by teenagers and the food was tastless and fatty.We was also sat in December by an open door and the place was freezing,the restaurant was fairly empty yet we always seemed to have to wait even for drinks.
Only went there because we read good reviews but i had to wonder whilst we was there if i was in the right place |

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant,and we werent disapointed by the theming and the food was great, good value sea food. We shared the bucket of boat trash and the kids had lovely fresh fish and chips. Unfortunately the seerver bought out our main course at the same time as our appetizers, we said we werent ready could he take it back to the kitchen he just shrugged and slooped off. Then five minuted later a different server just came and shoved it on the table while we were still eating out appetizers, we had to leave them so we could make room on the table for the main course. This was a big downside and my husband still gave the obligatory 20%tip! Dont know if we would go back there. |

We had lunch there one afternoon in Oct, it was not too busy so had no wait. The food was excellent, service was very good, liked the signs so you could get a servers attention quickly if required. I had the combo shrimp platter, did not really enjoy the cocunut shrimp but that was just my taste. All the other shrimp was to my liking. DW had chicken salad which was delicious, DD had burger which she said was great and DS had chicken strips, again these were very good. Would definitely go back. |

You cannot make a reservation for Bubba Gump's, or ring ahead. Just turn up about 15 minutes before you'd like to eat and they'll do their best to accomodate you. We ate twice here on our last trip and both times the food and service were excellent. The restaurant is Forrest Gump themed, from the bench outside, where you can sit with Forrest's running shoes, his suitcase and his box of chocolates, to the drinks menu inside on a table tennis bat. The restaurant consists of tables and booths, all decorated with Forrest and Greenbow memorabilia. Of course, the main focus of the restaurant is shrimp, and they serve it in a variety of ways. My personal favourite was the New Orleans Shrimp, shrimp sauteed in garlic and spices (it was a bit hot), served with rice and garlic bread. They also do chicken, fish, ribs and steak. There is the usual choice on the kids menu, but they also do a very, very good kids fish and chips. There is a good choice of dessert, the apple cobbler is big enough to share! The servers are attentive and friendly, if you play along with them, heaven knows what they'll get you to do. If you want to be left alone, they'll leave you alone. The cost of a meal for 2 adults and 1 child including drinks was $65, including tip. Highly recommended - I for one can't wait to re-visit. |

We visited Bubba Gump on my birthday. The service was excellent. Our server really made us feel at home and went the extra mile to make the whole experience fun. The food was fine but didnt really leave me excited. I suppose I dont go for much fried food (and there is a lot of it!) and made the choice to have the mahi mahi which came in a delicious sauce. Dd and ds liked their food but the fries were a little cold. The smoothies though were scrummy.
If its your birthday, dont forget to say. I got serenaded and had a free birthday dessert.
Overall I found the experience quite good but next time I will try one of the other restaurants at Citywalk. |
