Honestly love it so much here! The food is so nice, tasted really homemade.
The staff are so in character and it honestly made me laugh so much. My dad didnt understand at first so was angry, i had to explain. But once i did he got into it.
Honestly will come back here again and again

Not for us I'm afraid. Glad we tried it, but the food was just ok and the antics were not for us. The kids were worried the whole time that they would be told off.

We really enjoyed it here, the setting is fantastic and the servers play their parts brilliantly (witnessed a grown man with four children being told off because he hadn't eaten his veg and then being fed by the server whilst we all made aeroplane noises!)
Milkshakes were awesome, made with ice cream so nice and thick and the menu makes a nice change to burgers with meatloaf, veggies, etc.

Been here 4 times now, the food is not bad for theme parks. The milkshakes are among the best in my DD and DH opinion.
The server interaction we find hit and miss, twice we had great servers who were really in character and had a great time, the last time the server just was not interested, we love the interaction so a little disappointing for us when the server isn't in character!

We dined here for the first time in January. It was just me and my 6 year old son and were looking forward to it following all the feedback we had heard.
Our server was good and played the roll well of our cousin haha, i did wonder whether they would act with us as we were just two but it was great. The food was also good but nothing out of this world however the milkshake and the chocolate and peanut butter layer cake were to die for ;-)
Id totally recommend this place

This was the best restaurant we ate at during our 2 week stay.
It was fun and delicious. None of us could finish our plates, but only DD was told to have one more bite before she could have desert.
The milkshakes are to die for and are included in the DDP, although you do not get a refills like with the soft drinks.
Our server was hilarious. He was serving all of the 5 tables in our corner and introduced each party to everyone when we came in. DD thought it was hilarious when a girl on a different table had her elbows on the table and was made to hold a serviette to the wall with her nose and say 'I will never place my ellbows on the table again'.
He did tell DD to eat one more bite of her meal 2 times, but I mentioned that it was ok and that she didn't need to eat anymore. So he made me eat it instead lol
We will be returning!

Well this restaurant was a giggle from start to finish! We loved the theming and we had a great server who fully immersed herself into her role. We both had the pot roast/meatloaf/fried chicken meal which was delicious. I had a traditional cherry coke while my daughter had the thickest milkshake I have ever seen! My DD decided that she wanted Dad's sundae surprise and was slightly embarrassed by the size of this dessert! We would go here again.

Loved this restaurant. Our server was amazing, attentive without overcrowding us. Had a laugh with the children and DH. Was really impressed with the way they dealt with a food allergy. They were informed and allowed us to make clear choices. Food was fabulous and would recommend this for any family. Lots of choice and a fuss was made in all the right ways. Yum!

This is a brilliant place to have dinner, our guest server was excellent. He was very funny even got the kids to lay the table and take the menu back to reception. We all got told off for having our elbows on the table (mama's rules). Food was lovely and we had our deserts bagged so we could have them watching fantasmic. Will defiantly be going back next holiday.

We absolutely LOVED 50's Prime Diner :D
The shenanigans that go on throughout the restaurant are fantastic and although they can be distracting, there is no reason to distract from the food as it was lovely. We both had the selection of Mom's favourites and wow :)
The PB&J milkshake was also to die for!
We are so going back to visit our cousins on each trip :) can't wait

Love this place!
We had a great time, 4 adults returning to being 4 kids again! And NO we were not kids in the 50s!
The server was great fun, not over the top but friendly and jokey.
Food was fab, massive portions as you might expect but we all enjoyed our meal, Meatloaf here is to die for!
We can highly recommend the PB&J milkshakes. Tried it for the first time - they are gorge! But no room for pud!

This was our first experience of the diner and I have to say we really enjoyed it! The theming was excellent and we had a good server who played the part well but having read other reviews think we did not get the full picture! DH had Mom's platter which he really enjoyed, DD1 had the chicken which she loved, and also ate all her greens! This is high praise indeed from a 15 year old! DD2 aged 13 is a veggie, and to be honest Disney do not cater for veggies well at all, but at the diner she had a really good veggie lasagne which she really enjoyed! I had a salmon Ceasar salad which was okay, not much can be said about a piece of salmon and a load of Romaine lettuce.! Puddings good, DD1 had s'mores which was good, I had a good apple/muesli pud, and other 2 had 'dad's brownie' which they liked. None of us could finish our puds!
Overall a good experience which did not cost us a penny as on DDP. Like all Disney meals we have had had, we paid for it it would of been overpriced, but we will go again when we go back to Disney ...

It was the first time eating here for us, and it was relatively good. The place is noisy and crowded, with lots of shouting and hollering going on, which we didn't expect. Our server really wasn't in character, which we found disappointing. Saying that, the food was good- between our party we tried the onion rings, fried chicken, chicken pot pie, brownie sundae and apple crisp. Generally good and it came out HOT which is unusual in the US!
It's a nice experience and offered reasonable value for money (paid OOP), certainly in comparison to the brown derby.
We would probably go back.

Loved the theme here. We were lucky to get a tv table, which sits up to four. Our server did not go too overboard, much to my disappointment but the childrens relief. I had the crab cakes for starter, which I really enjoyed, DD had fried cheese, but half the plate was grapes which put her off. DH and DD gave appetizers a miss. Main course - adults had the sampler plate which was delicious, 2DDs had the fried chicken. All the portions were huge and really tasty, chicken was not greasy.
DDs shared the smores for dessert but the marshmallows were burnt, so slightly off putting. Would go back but not for a few years. The theming did more for me than the food.

Family of four adults and one teenager went at lunchtime for a ADR. My DH didn't know it was not a "normal" eating place, the rest of us did. It was so funny when he was made to stand with his nose to the wall for being "cheeky". We really had a good time in this restaurant, three of our party were made to stand with their noses to the wall and one was instructed to sing I'm a little teapot by our server for various misdemeanors by our server, who was excellent and really played her part well. We all enjoyed our food. I loved the Pot Roast. We'll worth a visit if you are comfortable with attention being focused on you, but this attention can be avoided as the staff are sensitive to people who are not comfortable with this.

Was really looking forward to this as we had a great time in 2012. However we were put in a side room with one other couple felt a bit out of it. There was no interaction or banter with the server it could have been a meal anywhere. Dh and I had the platter of Moms favourites and it was Ok. The tastiest bit was the meatloaf and I swear they make the veg so disgusting to be able to tell you of for not eating it. DD1 had the chicken pie and she quite enjoyed it, Other girls had the milkshakes as a drink so couldn't face a dessert other than ice cream. I had the cream parfait and DH had the cheesecake. After the parfait arrived I wished I had ordered the brownie as it was pretty tasteless. Overall really disappointed as others have said it is a bit hit or miss. Nothing lost as we were on the DDP but wouldn't pay for a meal here out of my own pocket.

We've been here loads of times and I have to say it's very variable. Sometimes you get a server who is a real hoot - I love this - and sometimes you get one who doesn't really get into the spirit of it, in which case it's 'just a meal'.
The food can be variable too - sometimes just great and sometimes just OK. A lot of heavy fried food as it's 'down home' cooking. You always tend to get collard greens, which is dark green cabbage, probably so that they can hassle you about eating it up, our server got very confused when I asked for extra because it's my favourite vegetable ha ha

second time we've ate here and again it was really good. I had the platter which a sample of most of the main meals, the meatloaf is fantastic. The kids and wife all enjoyed their meals, the waiter did the whole telling off bit, which is good for a while but after a bit gets a bit of a pain, but I guess I was just tired because everybody loved it.

We dined here in January 2013 and enjoyed it.

Our waiter was good fun - my 2 boys were in hysterics when he was poking another diner with a long straw and they didn't know where it was coming from.

My youngest ate all of his meal as I had pre-warned him he may get told off if he didn't!

My youngest DS10 didn't enjoy his food as he doesn't like mashed potato! But the rest of us enjoyed it.

Good tip - if you are on the dining plan, the milkshakes are included (I say milkshakes they are more like cups of ice cream! )

We had an ok time here. Our server didn't really play a role, just told us to keep our elbows off the table, and I did my best to try and be naughty! It was a shame as a server in a nearby area was really playing it up and I felt like we were missing out! Maybe cousin John is just shy?!
On to the food : DH and I shared onion rings for appetiser. These were really yummy and I could have eaten them all myself! For entrees DD had the chicken nuggets and fries. Standard fare really! DH had the salmon and really enjoyed it. I had the fried chicken and it was excellent. I was thinking it would be like KFC but the coating on the chicken was so light. I did substitute greens for corn ( I had asked if I would be in trouble for asking but just got told no its fine!)
For dessert DD had the ice cream and DH and I had the cheesecake. We were very full so didn't eat all of it!

Really liked the look of the menu here but was nervous about the experience as I don't like to be made the centre of attention. We arrived early and they were able to seat us early - we were exhausted and wanted to get back to our room.

I had the pot roast and absolutely loved it - DH had the chicken pot pie and equally enjoyed it. Our server was really great fun and made DH and DS eat their vegetables but it wasn't over the top or embarrassing. The theming was great and we will definitely return here.

Booked here with a little trepidation, due to the mixed reviews and that DH didn't see anything on the menu that he thought he would like. Our server was 'uncle Dale' he made us feel very welcome although he felt that there was a British invasion as 2 other tables were occupied by British. He gave us the rules, no elbows,to lay the tables ourselves and then went through the menu with us, explaining what everything was, esp the peanut and jelly milkshake which DD wanted.
I had the meatballs, huge and very tasty. DH had the mis of everything, he said was lovely and DD had the fried chicken, a huge portion with greens, she loved it but couldn't finish it. Uncle Dale was very funny throughout, kept on checking on us and manners, he agreed DD had eaten enough to have a pudding, we shared smores which we loved, she also loved her peanut butter and jelly milkshake, tasted beautiful.
In all a lovely meal, made it into fun by Uncle Dale and his jokes and comments which were all very light hearted, would definitely go back again

We are 2A + 2C 1fussy child. We had an ADR and seated straight away. I ordered the salmon which was nice but the spinach and veg were far too greasy i know it did mention oil but was not for me OH had sampler plate which he really enjoyed. The fussy child refused to eat his but our server was lovely and brought him french fries and didn't charge us for his original meal.
We liked the 1950's look and setting here our server was really pleasant.

Love this place. Been quite a few times over the years but most recently sept 2011. Theming is great in here and if you get a good waiter they really play up to it and make it fun e.g. making sure you eat your greens, making sure you washed your hands after going to the bathroom etc.

I had the salmon - very tasty. Looked a bit strange on the plate with these little crispy things on top but it tasted lovely. OH had the meatloaf and really liked it. We both had milkshakes which were gorgeous but incredibly sickly so by the time dessert came we were stuffed. I had smores - YUK! Tasted vile and cannot see the attraction with these. OH had the big Choc Brownie dessert with loads of ice cream and loved it.

Been lots before and will definitely be going again.

We ate here for the 1st time this holiday. My fault in not resarching beforehand I guess but we hated it. The food was OK but I hated the atmosphere A very noisy server (not even ours) commented on my very red sunburned face and added "Brits huh" so loudly that at least 4 tables turned to look and laugh. I was so embarrassed. We will def NOT go there again.

This restaurant was fantastic! We were served by 'Cousin Quinn' and i had the Fried Chicken, i enjoyed this a lot and it tasted fantastic! 'Cousin Quinn' was a fantastic server, we drew her a picture of Mickey mouse and she put it up on the fridge, proudly showing as many people as would look. Its these little things which make a dining experience memorable.

My family 5 - were not impressed - worst disney meal. Our server spoke at length to american families on DDP and ignored us. Food was mediocre - I would give it a miss. Nicer fried chicken at KFC.

We were cramped in funny table - there were people sat all over the floor when we walked in, were called through just as we were handed drinks. Servers dod not say - leave those and we'll bring them over. Poor

Will not be back

we looking forward to dining here. the food was amazing, we really enjoyed it but we were very annoyed at our server. she didn't do any of the jokes and acting that i had read about, however we saw her at the table next to us being really friendly and getting on well with the family.
we sat at our table and looked around jealously at all of the tables with other servers having a great time.

would maybe try again but it really is a hit or miss i think.

Are server just wasn't playing at all, but was acting up for the american families.

Ate here on Xmas Eve 2010 and thought it was great! We had ADR and arrived 20 mins early. Had a drink in the bar and although it was busy we git a seat and only had to wait 30 mins (10 mins past our ADR time) which went really fast!
We were seated at a great table with a TV and the waiter was fantastic! We really wanted Xmas Eve to be special for DS8 and DS5 and it was great. They got told off from the waiter and even I did for putting elbows on the table! Far too much food but fried chicken was lovely! I would recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be going again!

Just got back and thought i would right a review.

When we arrived, we went to the bar and waited 25mins for our waiter to call us. This area was very busy and cramped.

The waiter was excellent and we seated in a great alcove taking us back to the 50"s.

The waiter kept telling the kids off for various bad habits and we were all caught up in the great atmosphere.

The food was excellent with the pot roast going down a treat!

Deserts very good but large!

All in all a great place and food

My 3 boys really liked this place. Our server was a bit dull and rushed off her feet, however, the male server at the next few tables managed to keep us entertained - he was wickedly funny. The peanut butter and jelly milkshake was worth the visit on its own. I had the fried chicken, way too much and some portions were dry.

Not my favourite menu at WDW but of course it’s in perfect keeping with the restaurant theme. Despite this, I would still always try and squeeze in a visit as I think the theme and ambience is great.

It’s places like this that really demonstrate the creativity of the Disney Imaginears and I think should be judged mostly on the experience rather than scrutinising everything on the menu. Our servers have always been excellent and really embraced their ‘roles’ and the restaurant has such a novelty factor that it’s hard not to get suckered in. My Husband and I wore our ‘clean plate’ stickers with pride!

Last time went I had the fish sandwich which was very nice, just what I needed to set me up for the afternoon.
If you want a sweet treat, go for the s’mores, we shared a plate between us and weren’t disappointed!

Possibly my least favourite WDW meal that I've had.

However that is not to say it was bad, just that it didn't seem to be anything special at all...

Our waitress didn't really do too much playing along to the theme and the food was just 'ok'. I recall being distinctly unimpressed with the onion rings as they weren't rings as such - just very fine wisps of onion in a very crumbly crunchy batter.

I'm not sure we'd return but again, I want to stress that is not because it was 'bad' just that there are other places we know we prefer.

Visited this restaurant after having it recommended to us by some american friends who had recently been (I was pre-warned not to put my elbows on the table). We absolutely loved it - it was scarry because I was expecting to be told off for something but I even managed to get a Clean Plate sticker for finishing my meal (minus the pickle - the missus had that but I told the server I had done that just so he didnt tell me off). I thought honesty was the best policy after a poor girl from the table next to us lied to the server saying she had finished her dinner so she could have a pudding only to be caught out because the server knew she had given some of her meal she couldnt eat to one of the fellas in her party so he dragged her seat to the middle of our section and told her to think about what she had done. Everyone (including her) thought it was hilarious.

The food was excellent, really enjoyed it (hence the Clean Plate sticker) and the experience was great. We were lucky as we didnt have a reservation and didnt have to wait long but will be reserving when we are there in August 2010 as this place is an absolute must.

We loved the theming of this restaurant. the food was also brilliant. However we tried to play up to the server but he was having none of it. If you get a good server this restaurant is amazing we however didnt.

This was the least favourite of all our Disney restaurant visits. We had the longest wait here and I didn't think it was particularly clean! The food was o.k though and the waitress cheery enough, but I don't think we will return in a hurry.

The whole of the decor is amazing. The 'lounge' area where you wait for your table is like being in some ones front room from the 1950's. We had about 30 mins wait for our ADR table, so we had drinks from the bar and sat down on the setees in the 'lounge'. The lady in charge of tables shouts out your name when your table is ready and your server comes to collect you.
You get a table with your own TV like the one at the top of this thread, it is so cool!
Our server was OK, not really too into the spirit of it all, but very nice.
We got told off for putting our elbows on the table, and there was paper hat going round the room, I think it had written on it 'tittle tattle' or 'tell tale' or something similar, so if you told the server someone had their elbows on the table, you got given the paper hat to wear which was rather embarrassing!
We really enjoyed the food, I had Mom's Old Fashioned Pot Roast and some of our group had Dad's Traditional Meatloaf.
I would go again, I loved the themeing, the food, and the antics of the servers, also other tables interact with you too it is strangely bizarre!

Getting Excited

We have only been once and had a great time.
As others have said though, the service will be all down to the server.

Fortunately for us (Or Unfortunately) some may say. The server was crackers, a lovely woman in her 50’s. She gave us the whole elbows thing, don’t eat with your mouth open, etc.

Then at the end one of our friends had left some vegetables which she decided to feed him. Some may have found it too much but we were okay with it.

The foods we thought was lovely, you have to visit the place at least once.

We had a fantastic experience here. We had a few minutes to wait for our table and decided to get a drink at the bar. The barman was not to friendly, but before we had a chance to take a sip, our table was ready. The servers in our area were brilliant, the banter with all the tables were great, we all had to say goodbye to the table next to us and shout 'shame on you' to those who did not finish their veg. Definitely be going here next time. Be prepared to laugh you socks off!

Visited this whilst on Free dining. Only small wait till we were seated. DH had pot roast which he enjoyed and DS had the kids salmon and rice. He had never eaten salmon before and he wolfed it down. The food here was nice, although not 5 star but we hadnt expected it to be.

Wde seemed to have a quiet server and really missed out on the fun other tables seemed to be having. We would however visit again.

I liked the authenticity and attention to detail in this restaurant, and the staff were attentive too, however there was a bit of a wait to get our table, even although it was prebooked. And, as I can't remember the food compared to everything else about this restaurant, I will mark this down slightly. However, the restaurant should be experienced for that retro 50's feel

Possibly the food was a bit bland - I guess like it might have been in the 50's - but I have to say we had a great time in here. When we arrived for our ADR we were ushered into a waiting area with the bar, I ordered my drink and whilst the barman was still pouring it the server was stood in the doorway telling everyone my dinner was getting cold. The whole thing just kept on going from there. I was put in the corner for my cheek, I got the choo-choo treatment because I left the mushrooms and some veg on my plate, I was given a bib after the server decided that the wet marks on the table from my beer glass were down to me dribbling my alcohol. My kids absolutely loved it. A real chance to get their own back on their Dad.

Still never mind, at least I could tell Uncle Tim what colour the soap in the bathroom was...

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Had a fun server - do be prepared to interact as it must be tough going if you get a family who don't play along!

DD had the kids meal, DH had the pork tenderloin (DD wants to return to have this!) and I had the meatloaf. I have found the recipe for the meatloaf on Allears, and will be trying it at home. The portions are on the small side for America, which actually means they are refreshingly realistic and you might have a fighting chance of fitting in a dessert. Speaking of which, DH had the cobbler and I had the smores. If you like your teeth beware the smores, as they are delish but oh so sweet!

DH said the gents was gross in here, but the ladies was fine, so I have marked it average on the cleanliness

Go here for the fun more than the dining. The experience really does depend on the waitress but both times I have been we have had good ones without them being the really crazy ones. Also lots going on for little ones so they shouldn't get too bored. The food here is nice although a little limited for vegetarians. Finally the tables are very small and it can be a bit of a squeeze!

Fine food and fun service. I really enjoyed my lunch here and this was my 3rd time of dining here for lunch. This restaurant isn't all about the food and it's as much about the service but you have to "play" to get the full value of this venue.

I've left my green beans before now and had the server "airplane" feed them to me which was pretty hilarious. Another time my friend hid her beans in her milkshake cup but of course we ratted her out and "I'm a little teacup" rendition followed.

The food is enjoyable but it's not something I can eat on a sunny day to me it's worthy of a colder day in Florida. The meatloaf is good but the fried chicken is better. Don't forget to ask for the dessert menu :)

Definately depends on the server. Ours was rubbish, very bland and didnt play at all. Whereas the table next to us had a great server who kept telling them off and shouting at them from across the room. it looked like they had a much better time than we did

If you haven't a sense of humour stay away! It was such a well thought out place! You really feel like you are back in time in mama's house! Our waiter was tops he didn't not let his 'cousin' act slip once. To be called to our table as 'The Gadget Kids' was classic. You must visit this place for the experience!

we ate here on our second visit to orlando and found the atmosphere to be brilliant. or server was aunt sue and she was very funny she told us the milkshake would take a bit longer as Grandma is 93 you know. i didn't eat my greens so aunt sue fed me some while evberyone else made their best aeroplane noises. the food was ok not the best we've tasted but i think its more about the experience. A definite for next time we go with the kids.

The waitress was brilliant - kept picking on my husband - the more my little boy laughed the more she picked on him and the redder and more embarrassed he got!
If you dont eat all your greens she'll do an aeroplane and say "open wide" and she just puts it right in! Keep your elbows off the table or you're gonna be in trouble! The food was great - we all had clean plates - she gets everyone to clap you if you eat it all up! Great fun - highly recomended, great food too. The kids will love it watching their parents get told off.

had xmas lunch here, great choice, good fun but be prepared to be teased mercilessly. not for the feint hearted... you can ask for corn instead of the green beans ... which if you are not a fan of green beans is highly recommended, as you are expected to clear your plate or else your "cousin" will have no qualms in spoon feeding you to the delight of your family and neighbouring tables.

Good fun. Didnt know what to expect on our first visit. We didnt realise that the theming went as far as the servers telling off DH for putting his elbows on the table. Food was good but the whole dining experience was even better.

We checked in early 'just in case' and were called just before our booked time. We were in Anton's section, but he really didn't interract with us. He spent more time sitting at other tables chatting to other diners than he did speaking to us, and he was abrupt to the point of rudeness.

So, while the food was lovely, and Anton managed to get me a sample of the pot roast to try, his attitude ruined it for us. If you don't enjoy the service, chances are you won't end up enjoying the food either, and I'm afraid Anton ruined it for us. It is the first time I've ever asked to speak to the manager!

We would go again - as long as we never see Anton ever again!
