You can add on additional drivers when you complete the online check in and still go straight through to the garage when you arrive. All drivers will need to be present when you arrive at the exit...

You can add an additional driver on at the kiosk but its not cheap... circa $10 - $15 per day plus taxes (unless you have an additional driver included). You should do this when you do the OLCI...

The text is referring to the rental desks in the airport. For the larger vehicles where you need to collect the keys, this would be from the Alamo booth in the garage.

I only ever complete the online check in section... Never bothered with the straight to the garage step which is where you'll be entering the card details.

Can't imagine it'll be an issue...
