I'd definitely take repellent. We were in Cape Coral/Keys last May and I got bitten a lot. Saying that, I am someone who the mozzies like the taste of, the rest of my family didn't get bitten at all!

I bought an Elnett 'unfragranced' one in Boots. There's still some chemical smell when sprayed but it doesn't seem to linger and is definitely less potent than other sprays.
