I would definitely avoid June our last visit in that month in 2017 it poured down with rain 11 out of 14 days, not brief showers but hours of constant rain.

Wasn't aware the one on the 192 was a franchise had one poor and one decent meal there. The one on US27 near Southern Dunes as you say is excellent. It's a must do for us every trip.
