The reservation system is there so they know how many guests will be in which park so they can staff accordingly. Capacity is normal to the best of my knowledge.

Absolutely this. We did the same in March. There’s a big difference getting there 30 mins before opening, to say 15 minutes before. Well worth making the effort.
