You might be able to claim for the delayed flight, EU rules if delayed more than 3 hours. I think 250 euros pp or similar.

Had the same thing happen a few days after you. Unclear whether they would automatically sort it, looked up flights and rang, had to argue to get on the one we wanted. Very upsetting text to get!
