I thought the drinking water on ships was distilled, so would have no salt at all in it.
My guess would be that the extra salt you are getting is from the food.

For 5 people I'd look at getting two inside cabins with connecting doors, much more room and two bathrooms.

We also use Travel on a Dream, and they are very helpful.

Last year we stayed at Renaissance Barcelona Hotel, booked via DCL.
Hotel is quite central. It does not have a pool though, apart from that very nice hotel.
