just red a post on FB from someone who got scammed. The car they ordered never turned up, so they cancelled. Another uber car then charged their card with $150 cleaning fee. They did dispute this...

I've never used a £ discount in the USA, I am not sure you can. You need to search for a $ discount code. I may be wrong but a sterling one I would not think would be much good to them out there?

No, you don't pay the drivers at all, the app takes from your CC after the journey. This is how uber works, so they re not classed as taxis for hire ... no money exchanges hands.

Except Uber are not private hire taxis as such ... it is how Uber gets around the legal stuff, they supply the app etc etc. you don't pay the driver direct so you are not "legally" hiring him ...
